Well, we don't have the tanning tub bug to speed things along any more, so it's still slow.

All haven players were "new" at the past. I was ok with this timings that days (even when i didn't know about tanning bug), i am still ok with them today. H&H is not simcity or minicraft, which are designed for "let everyone be creative"

All this serves is to hamper and bog down new players who can't access outside resources.

Large factions are too lazy to rebuild their drying frames tbh, i can speak for that considering i have like 40+ frames and didn't feel like i had to replace them after the patch, it's not like things don't get cycled through there anyway, just takes a little more time but allows me to focus on other things.

It has some similarity with my way of thought so I'll participate.

Unfortunately, people get bored with routine.
So, 1st time you are waiting for a hide you are ready to wait for fyll time without an issue.
100th time its just boring and demotivating.

Although I would go for decreasing the manual work rather than item preparation time. Meaning 2 ways
a) Do everything manually and gather profit
b) Gather resources manually to build something expensive but sparing your time of manual labor.

To be honest, advanced players do not need the hides to be dried quicker during the mid and end-game. The thing is that the drying time is crucial only for the start of the world. Afterwards, no-one bothers with it. I still have my q10 drying racks and I am fine with them.

And so, this is my argument.

The only people it benefits won't even bother, and so, the only result is that people are hurt/pushed back/slowed down as a result of it. By the time they have high quality trees, they're past a dire need for hides and leather material, and can passively just accumulate all that is needed.

It was a low impact change in the game for sure.
But at the same time I don't think it really hurt any new players.
If you really are hungry for hides you should just build a lot of frames. They are super cheap to build. Dry many hides at once and be done with it.
