We don't really recruit. It's a pain in the ass and not worth it in general with the exception of a few special cases

Well I agree with most of what Grable said, and as I stated before I'm not going to try to defend the bad decisions made with recruiting

but just because game is so badly designed doesnt make it any less sad for Nao to be bragging about how strong ainran is for having mastered the art of being cowards lol

This is why I have high hopes for the idea put forward to fix siege mechanics, when you take the impenetrable safety of bwall away, then it shows true colors of villages

What do you mean true colors? Ideally when brick walls are not the equivalent of a shell force field, it is mostly adapting according to the game mechanics. People aren't entirely too different when it occurs from what they were before: LadyGoo will continue to try to be a commercial power, Ainran will continue to find more excitement, Brodgar will continue to try to scrap some form of semblance of survival with Robben inactive, Zox (if he tries to play again) will continue to be an RMT mogul. (note, this is from my perspective viewpoint so don't that this as an absolute fact).

Also I would slightly disagree with Grabble here as it is not completely about cheesy tactics and backstab, it is about intent and purpose, and goal. Take this thread in example, factions have a mutual enemy in the form of Zox for entirely different reasons but are willing to work with the other factions that they haven't had any interaction with each other. Turning on them would be detrimental to their goal and they have enough discipline to now do that for the lulz. The alliance is not one of altruism or any sort but of purpose, to eliminate someone. Of course things like faction relation improvement and loot are welcoming secondary (or primary if priorities are equal or the other way around) rewards to success of the operation. It is not to say that spycraft doesn't have a play in the game but it is also done for intent and purpose such as the battle of R'lyeh (this is on the alternative speculation that jcole royally screwed up rather than malicious purpose), to destroy the enemy by opening their defenses.

Yes I would even say that was a really neat job. They discussed, found no way out, put a ram, rammed and did the job. No cr camping, no spy, no lies or trick or whatever needed for this action, from what I have read.

What I meant was this endless shitposting and posturing on forums is a result of the fact that everyone knows game mechanics make it impossible for anybody to get to them. Once you take that away then there will be actual merit to people's words because they can be tested and so people like Nao who has everyone believing he PvP god (even though he lost every spar) won't be able to keep up his act.

Currently it doesnt feel like there is much point to the grind because as Grable says real PvP doesn't exist. The only time I've ever seen stats/equipment matter so far in this world is when Zox 1v1 Bob Dole :) I believe proper siege mechanics will make improving your character actually matter again because PvP will become an unavoidable matter of survival.

when the vast majority of them are posted by you... time to stop derailing the thread, dont you think? or start it on the thread for that.
what i learned from this thread is that being allies with joco, zox, and mightysheep is not a wise option.

real pvp

considering how valhalla is generally empty, either there are no players who would enjoy the pure pvp or those who would havent died. (or didnt reach the stat.)

so, when is the story of zox side coming? have i missed it?

Valhalla is useless aside from some light theorycrafting and checking out AC on different armor types
Combat is not in a state where it is overly enjoyable to do and it's not incredibly skill-based to the point where you would want to practice it daily to git gud

Also I don't seem to recall Nao losing every spar... I also don't seem to recall MS ever sparring us

Actually it was a pretty civilized conversation till you posted and that shit about Valhalla shows how clueless you really are.

That was beside the point that I was trying to make by using this as an example. By no means I am refuting the validity of defeating an enemy by subterfuge but it isn't the only way to achieve this mean.

I've spar Nao at world 5 and lost at that so he doesn't lose every spar. Albeit I was not at a good mental state but I accepted it regardless of such and won't use that as an excuse for my loss. I wasn't a combat guru by any means but was relatively combat savvy at least and had some actual combat experience due to inevitable clashes so it wasn't that he was sparring against a newbie so while he does brag (something that I would disagree on but only due to difference in verbal style), he does have semblance of skills to make sure it is not all talk.

That belongs in the Ryleh thread .... or a thread where you are discussing combat, Jordans new thread for example. :)

No, we are all still waiting ..... tbf he is on holiday so probably has more fun things to do, like spending all the money he gained from trading in Haven. :P
