Way to ruin a great thread with unrelated Inn crap.

so, when is the story of zox side coming? have i missed it?

No, we are all still waiting ..... tbf he is on holiday so probably has more fun things to do, like spending all the money he gained from trading in Haven.

Last I heard he was writing it more or less like a poem and it's difficult to translate, or even make much sense of.

well, i thought valhalla could be a perfect set-up and opportunity for the fight club or competition you tried before, though, except for the limitation of audience who would bother to go watch.

I was Eggplant, I sparred Nao about 4 times and so did raff, won every time.

Yeah we had a big spar sesh on the first day we joined Ry'leh. I thought you made it into some kind of initiation to see how well me and sheep pvp'd.

Anywho I don't think Nao lost EVERY fight. I cant really remember. I do remember winning majority of the fights as me and sheep in ts shocked that we somehow had pretty decent stats.

I usually let people win spars if i don't think
i can learn anything from them. It's good to
see what they do without giving away any
tricks or even a proper deck. Yeah, i let you
win every single spar. Notice how i never
clipped you, ran a shitty deck, and didn't
seem all that interested? I was defending you
in this thread earlier homie, but jeez =x

Spars don't interest me unless i think you're a
good player. If i try and beat you, then you
should understand i respect you enough to
think it's worth a little effort (Patch <3)

Spars aren't even close to the real deal, in a spar you don't give a shit what happens. It's excellent practice to learn your decks, your cooldowns against certain amounts of agi, the damage you can do versus low and high ac, but in a real combat situation you have to consider the numbers game and you are of course always prone to panic as well.

True that.
It's hilarious how Nao is so ego defensive though.

His inner party posts after we killed his alt were truly Oscar worthy.

He (and the rest of Ainran) are pretty mediocre fighters, despite their forum posturing. I have no doubt Mightysheep whooped his ass, and Nao is trying to pretend he let him win. I say this as someone who has killed three Ainran this world, by my own hand, in real fights.

Lord of Shadows crew will trounce Ainran if they ever fight.

In the field of battle, there is a decent chance that you are going to die and very few people are immune to it due to the nature of the gameplay. However what truly makes a person of combat in Haven is actually two things: how composed you are in combat and how you can handle dying when it happens. This is regardless of how skilled you are in the combat system itself which is another matter.

1. Composure/Morale. As mentioned by Kaios, spars do not trained you against the shock of real battle and the risk of dying. You can spar 50 times in a week if you wish and develop very advanced technique. However, when you are forced into a situation where the risk of losing your character is very real, this is not only a test of your skills but also your nerves. It doesn't matter if you have the best understanding of the metagame and can implement it you are too scared to implement it and ends up making mistakes all through the fight and potentially even get killed to someone less skilled or stated than you.

2. Resilience to dying. It's going to happen sooner or later an even the best statted or skilled fighter can die in circumstances that even they can't muscle/Batman out of. What makes a haven fighter is how well they can bounce back from dying. Without it, you are essentially a 1 HP wonder that once you get hit, you're out of the game. However, it is acceptable to take a moment break to recover as long as you are able to come back (it is not easy to deal with losing a character you worked so hard on). Over time, the more you take against this, the less painful dying becomes.

PS: Thank you for the respect, Nao.
