I have come to realise that certain individuals within the community bring out the worst in me and then rub my face in it. All just part of growing up tbh. I have communities which bring out a better side of me and I choose to socialise more intimately within them instead. Personal growth 101.

At least I don't sit in discord bitching about people I disagree with for days, weeks and months or spam the same insult for nine hours straight. There are much more toxic individuals in this community than me. I don't feel any shame in avoiding them.

yes, all the evil bastards who passively mentioned females or same sex couples really brought out the worst in you didn't they? It's not your fault that you ranted for hours and hours on end about how you believe gay people are evil people that need to be euthanized, and it's not your fault that you get caught doing things like explaining to teenagers why you think women secretly desire rape. Those disgusting community members should have never triggered you with terrible buzz words like "female" and "love."

All just part of growing up tbh.

I'm going to say we've left this topic open because, even if the opinions can sometimes be a bit skewed towards skeptical or paranoia, it's good to discuss things. It's the act of discussion that makes us get out of our little personal bubbles to learn something new. If it's just going to turn into a flame war and shouting match, there's no reason to leave anything open for discussion--there's plenty of places on the Internet to share bad opinions and spread random links.

I have been at the demonstration in Berlin yesterday (1.8.2020) against the things our Government did and allowed itself to do 'because Corona'.

The march through the city was over 7km long, here some impressions:

At the place shown at 1:40 you see the entrance to the rally area (where the demonstration at the end was to be held with speeches, dance, song and party) that had already been blocked of by police because it was already overpacked, but at that point more than 1/3rd of the march had not even arrived at yet. The people had then been diverted into the parks to both sides of the street (where the main event was to be held).

The main event was interrupted by police a few minutes after it started and forbidden to continue 'because too many people are in the event area, hence risk of infection with covid being too high'. PA got disabled, one of the event manages arrested, assembled people instructed to leave immediately or else. Sadly too many did that - they sucked at math, Berlin that day had (according to official numbers) ~1500 Policemen on site, there would have been no way to dissolve this about of people without resorting to use of massive force. But about a quarter of the people simply refused to leave, continued to socialize, discuss and dance till way after dusk. Police did (apart from arresting a dozend or two random people for no visible reasons, they just picked up some of the ones sitting there pacefully) not intervene further, their main objective seems to have already been completed by preventing the speeches from happening.

Accordring to the organizer 1.3 million people, according to police I spoke to on the site above (when I passed it, I arrived about 1.5h after the head of the march passed that point) 800,000, according to official media 20,000, according to police on twitter 17,000. As comparison a picture, upper half an impression from Loveparade 2001 where 1 million participants have been counted, lower half a shot of the the exact same event area which had been taken yesterday (what you can't see are the ~20 meters next to the street under the trees, that also have been packed with people):



Clearly you can see that, as reported by quality media, only 20,000 have been there... can't you?


How big has the lie to be for the normal people to notice?

Eleven days after masks were made mandatory in Victoria. Still seems to have made things worse.



It will take seven to ten days for the data to come through if there is any rise in infections from the Berlin rally. Not that it matters at all as long as nobody at the rally was an at risk individual or above the age of 70.



I'm not sure I would encourage rallies but then I am not one of the young people losing my job or my education or my home to keep a bunch of thankless retirees alive.

Though other rallies like the 'Black Lives Matters' ones with 10-20k (also official numbers, but the organizers of them agreed) - which have not been aborted by police although they also ignored masks and distancing - did not yield an increase, the other smaller (5-15k persons) against Corona in middle Germany over the last months also did not yield any infections.

Masks, except FFP3 or stuff like Versaflo with suitable filter) can not protect against a virus, same as a chain-link fence helps against mosquitos.
