I'm sure statistics are out there, but how many deaths per year from mining and burning fossil fuels for energy....
For fear of derailing....
We really can't go to nuclear. As great as it sounds, and I'm a fan, fission energy just isn't safe in the long term. Too much waste that has to be managed properly. Coal is bad now and in the foreseeable future. Nuclear is bad for the next thousands of years. Maybe if we can get fusion done efficiently....
Allow me to throw a little something into this tangent.
The reason nobody will go nuclear is because of finances. With fusion just around the corner any nation investing heavily in nuclear fission plants will not be able to afford fusion plants in the future. Fingers crossed the scientists are not lying to us to garner funding.
As for coronavirus I am not in at at risk group and nor is anybody I care for. As far as I'm concerned...
the boomers need to go. Completely convinced that the world will be better off without them parasitising the youth. The generations who are dying do not belong in the future. There is no future for them and all they can do is destroy our future. I'm not going to go out and start coughing on boomers but I'm not particularly concerned about the spread of this virus.
Even as a tourist currently travelling overseas in a foreign country, with no Australian embassy, which has closed all borders, resturaunts, public transport and landmarks...
Laying flat.
