We should be able to wear buckets as a hat. Like this.
They could also work as a primitive head armor.

Carrying water buckets over your head and using buckets as a hat are two entirely different things.

Here is an image to explain the difference.

On topic: using a bucket as helmet dosn't make sense as visibility would drop to near zero and random faceplanting as one stumbles over random stuff you can't see would occur.
