I thought it could be something like that, and that's why I used the subjunctive in the OP. One of my friends was killed in the swamp in front of your place, but I know of that village SW and I imagined they could have something to do with it. The village you looking upon, ven, was tortured by marauders. A lot of us were killed without any chance to fight back. Yet no one from us killed anyone (except animals that is). So no, this is not a village you are looking for.
