And this is why trusting dodgy game mechanics is a bad idea.
Honestly, if stuff like this is going to keep happening then IMO the visitor buff should be removed. No point in having a very exploitable (and riddled with edge cases) mechanic if its only going to fool people into their own demise. Atleast if it's removed people will know to secure their stuff properly (locking gates, etc).

Incorrect. Each situation must be considered separately, but based on past experience. We are not the same (speaking of ruining the game each world by using bugs and abuses), so why should the law be the same?

I totally agree with that, atleast his char should be revived as a part of punishment to the abusers, nullifying their result.

Rules are the same for all of us, is he special at any point? Other people has died to abusers and has lost all and their chars hasnt been restored. That would be another big mistake
and the worst show of arbitrarity and bad praxis.

I'm not saying rules should be different for anyone ... ... I'd say the same if it were you or I or anyone else, I'm also saying it because in my eyes paying for a product makes a difference. I also agree with Leksar that each situation must be considered individually to establish what exactly has transpired.

The closest example I can think of atm ..... we have a chain of shops over here that sell seconds in clothing, seconds mean that the item has a minor defect that prevents it being sold in the store it was intended for, like a wrong size label, a slightly shorter or longer hem, anything that doesn't prevent the item being wearable. When you buy from there you know what you are getting, you can't return the item because you are a size 8 and the label says size 10, if however you get it home and it has a gaping rip in it somewhere, then ofc you are within your rights to return it and get a full refund, the item is unwearable.

We play this game and pay for it fully accepting that there may be the odd glitch or bug but if devs introduce mechanics that then result in the loss of your char and your base then that is the same kind of fault as the item above being unwearable and if it happened to me I would be demanding some form of compensation. I'm not saying I'd get it, and I am fully aware of the devs stance on this, I'm just simply giving my own opinion on how these types of situations should be handled now that we are paying customers. I don't expect everyone to agree with me and I certainly don't think rules should be different for different ppl. I just don't see the Hogwarts thing as clearly cut and dried as you do.

This new abuse may also turn out to be a muddled affair, we don't know yet.

Probably because I'm used to Civil law while you are used to Common law. In your system the judge create laws through jurisprudence and it becomes law, while in our law system jurisprudence its the 3rd or 4rth source of law. Im also used to iuspositivism, and thats why I was asking for a strong rule set.
In haven there arent laws, we have Kings or Gods, and theyr word is the law.
If they stated "Nobody will be resurectedno matter what" it means that this is the law. And so this is why I say that arbitrarism is dangerous because then nobody will ever know for sure what is going to happen next. That is dangerous,nasty and unfair.

While I say "All must be tratened by the same law" you understand like there is no judgement or guarantees to investigate case per case, and thats not what Im saying. Of course I think devs must and will investigate this, but this doesnt mean they must change the rules at will for the reasons exposed before.
