thank you frosty for your wonderful story.
We had a good laugh how ozzy was causing drama once again.
There was a wise soviet conscript that was surrounded by the enemy on the battle of Stalingrad. A mortar shot teared his pants apart causing a big hole in his pants right on his right butt cheek. He felt a glorious cold ass breeze of wind on his butt cheek, like it would be sent by stalin himself, he said - hide your butts

And again, more happens while I sleep.

I can't tell exactly what happened, but it seems overnight Ozzy logged into Salt (the combat character used to kill some others in the original betrayal) and attacked and killed two villagers, and attempted to bait a third because of whatever his own suspicions were- as well as there was another account I wasn't aware even existed that was in the village with rights, so the bodies were stolen (We banished unknowns and such using a different character as lawspeaker, and changed all passwords asap obviously). Ozzy also decided it would be funny to butcher half the animals before leaving our discord/rejoining to yell some more.

With the loss of bodies, Ozzy killing more villagers and so on, as well as this catastrophic failure, i'll probably mark this as my end for this world, and unless world 10 is significantly different I might not try again then either.

I decided to allow Ozzy in for two reasons; Zeler was a good friend from world 8 and I trusted him, so seeing how close he was with Ozzy I figured I could trust ozzy as well- and a big focus I wanted for the village was to maintain our own image; Even if we have members from other factions (Which we do, ranging from NB to Ainran to DiS/Polska and so forth)- I wanted to be a seperate entity from them. I didn't want to cause trouble directly (Well, it would be a lie if I said we'd never want conflict, but we would not instigate it and would attempt to protect villages and hermits nearby us). Since we settled here, we were looking at aa neaarby village whom both attacked us with catapults when we settled here, and continually raided new settlers (Which later in discussion they presented their reasoning, and we both agreed on a compromise to have them warn newbies to not settle near them before pushing them away).

I knew that AD would become upset if Ozzy joined us, and was prepared to be involved in fights if they decided to raid us. I tried not to butt heads with Ozzy too much; and I still like the guy as a person, but he is far too aggressive and raid-minded of a person for me to live with; And without meaning too insult, he pushes down other people a lot. After he decided to impersonate as me on an alt while I was asleep and kill the other villages, I can't say I'd ever trust him again after that. It's one thing to plant a spy and betray another village; but an entirely different crime to murder your own fellow villagers ESPECIALLY when they've proven themselves not to be a criminal.

I wouldn't have cared if we got sieged and couldnt protect ourselves. I wouldn't have cared if we all brutally died in battle and couldn't protect anything.
But it's never going to end that way; and of course i'm naturally too trusting of a person, so thats my downfall. As someone nicely put it in our discord.

I'm probably done for now, and unless world 10 is significantly better I might not play. Even for a while we've been just talking about quitting; we had to recruit because people were quitting left and right; I started putting recruitments to all the veterans in the secret discord channel to see who we'd let in and who not but nobody would comment except Kums.

I don't know, I've had a lot of pent up dissatisfaction with Haven for a while. There's so many things that frustrate me and make me want to leave; PVP being a mess- the all or nothingness of the game; how prominent bug abuse and botting is in the later stages of the game is horrible to me- given i'm the type of person who refuses to even autostudy or use a digging bot.
I told people that if I weren't lawspeaker i'd probably have quit a while ago due to game changes- but I had an obligation to serve the village,I guess that obligation isn't around anymore with people either packing up and leaving.

Idunno. I tried, the only thing I was hoping for was to go out fighting or being raided, but it's clear that's never going to happen in a village I lead.

But again, c'este la vie.

Archi ... it is quite a mess but, don't let it get you down or be too hard on yourself ... we've all trusted ppl who have let us down in one way or another, it happens, we all make mistakes but hopefully we learn from them too ... you can't take either all the blame or all the responsibility ... each must account for his or her own actions.

I hope you do return, the game does have many faults and I certainly understand becoming frustrated and dissatisfied with it, but, there is also a lot right with it too and there is always the chance of improvement with ppl who understand the game and can help to make suggestions for it's improvement. People like you. :)

Take some time out if need be while you gather your thoughts and then hopefully come back with a new directive.

I share the feeling, and many others have very similar stories to tell. Updates keep coming but the game stays basically the same. Alts ruin everything. Can't socialize when half the people who apply for our villages are impersonators. With alts, fights are as meaningless as a RTS'. Trade and village life are pointless when everyone has crafters, miners, farmers, and foragers. And we can't draw or retain enough new people so any change in the status quo is risky money-wise. I'm placing my bets on w22.
