You can not port home with red-handed passengers.

what? umm yeah mate
ive got a palli all around the village.
were trying to make it look nice lol.

so the dock was in a little alcove of a lake. nicely sitting in next to the harvest area.
we were planning on building a brick wall to the two edges of the alcove with the dock on the inside and then build two more knarrs to block entrance from sea.

on further inspection tho i noticed how even without keys someone can simply enter one of the knarrs and drop himself off on the inside of the section were creating

so simply put

i wont bother to build a new dock or extra knarrs or another wall.

not until i either get some sort of function for walling off shallows, or the knarrs become untouchable without keys.
either or would suffice and i could enclose the dock

or they make them passable like the hearth fires and village banners and thus indestrucible without seige.

but seriously guys listen.
some bone boiled in a cauldron make an impervious wall, yet hardened dried tar makes a paper mache dock??
cmon....
-_-

The hearth mechanic gives them quite a bit of value which makes it a little harder to argue against the crafting cost

A kiln setup for building a dock twice a week requires 3.1% space of basic village claim size.

How easy should it get? I think currently its accessible enough for such a powerful effect.

I like hard to build structures with powerful effects in the game. It adds endgame for the builders.

yeah the cost alone isn't the issue, what people are saying is that the cost is too high when considered with the ease of destroying the dock

If you can't handle the loss don't build one.
Fragile luxury items/buildings should be a thing imo.
Not to mention material sink to create more content for trading.
