Because gold bar require high work in str char, time to find node and city developpement to reach L4/L5 while having subtokens doesn't?

Plus he's accepting other form of payment ?

I don't mind reducing prices if I never get a matching offer. Like it works in real life, you set a price, get no demand and are forced to either reduce price until you find buyers or the good is not worth producing for the price.
