The biggest incentive for botting is infinite stat growth. You just have to bot to keep up with the Joneses' bots.

I'm actually a little disappointed that you'd still try to maintain this. This is true only in the sense that most any economic value in the game creates incentives to bot. Our last conversation on this subject demonstrated amply that this is a misleading analysis.

I agree with Jorb hindering botting should be done where they can.

Botting is a problem for every mmo. Just this one makes it easy with lack of anti bot protections and game mechanics that somewhat incentivize it.

I'm not so sure it is intentionally fostered. Jorb and Loftar seem intent on giving you an open world to wander and create. It's really your choice what you do with it. Some feel the need to programs and scripts to improve their game lives. Does it provide greater advantages? Yes! Is it intended? I don't think so. Especially since Jorb just stated above an attempt to curb botting.

Its not intended or fostered. Just allowed. Most mmos are trying to make money but this is just a hobby. Most mmos foster botting except the companies are more hardlined.

The game is a sandbox, and in any sandbox like this, a major portion of the game is resource gathering. We're not fortunate enough to have an Age of Empires style of automated work, like building, and cutting logs. Because of this, it's very tedious to chop and move logs around by hand, to farm one tile at a time, etc. Botting curbs the boredom and repetitiveness of things like this and I feel like that should always be welcomed until the mechanics are made more user friendly. The default client should have farming/hunger grinding bots by this point because it's so important and needed by everyone.

... or we could spend that time making better farming and hunger mechanics instead.
