I'm curious as to what those terrains are the first and last shots. A type of grassland...and a rocky mountain?

I know how, but in this? it's possible? also how would somebody make a map of the land if it just expands?

A simple example would be that every time the player gets to the edge of what is currently the map, the map generator creates a whole new map which expands the current one in that direction. If you can generate one world, it's easy to make another. For example:

This is the world:
███
█X█
███

Now someone walks to the northern edge of the world, and the game generates a new world to the north:
███
█Y█
███
███
█X█
███

Obviously, Jorb and Loftar are doing something much more complicated and far easier on the server I imagine.

As to the map, you need to explore an area before you can start drawing maps ;).

That looks amazing, I like the different hairstyle also.
..So if there's swimming.. will there be any water based NPCs? (Doesn't have to be zoras, I think it'd be enough to have crocodiles in the swamps.)
