There's a graphical representation of your character sleeping in the bed, but it's not possible to interact with him in any way what so ever.

Phew. That's relieving, thanks. Where does it show how much TW you'll get from traveling to a location? I don't see it anywhere.
The grumpiest tree you ever did see.

Character: Hamel, previously Chieftain of Ancient Bottleneck, a founding father of the Confederation of Bottleneck. Currently a hibernating soul.

With the original n00bish 10 agility, you'll be able to travel about half a supergrid in one hop. The cost incurred by one hop scales as O(n^{3/2}), and the amount of weariness a character can handle scales linearly with agility.

Will travel weariness decrease at all if you're logged out without using a bed? Will crossroads connect between different villages (is that the whole point?).

Also, we really should have more ways to reduce weariness other than not-playing the game. Since tea is generally inferior to water at this point, perhaps allow tea to reduce TW as a stopgap until other beverages or means are introduced?

Now i've been gone pretty much since i read the first dev announcement about this. Might have been nice if it were a warning.

Question: What recourses are available to me for trading these 1600 bricks I have ready to ship now?

ALT ABUSE FTW.

Also, What Pacho said. IMHO should have been taken care of first. Now I'm fucking stuck and more than a little shitty about it. I was actually LOOKING FORWARD to this development. Now I'm just about ready to scrap H&H altogether since I'm all but completely fucked.

Hmm. What about people who have a mine out somewhere in the middle of nowhere? Without making a village by the mine itself, you basically have to haul your goods to the nearest town first. This would be fine, but we have yet to receive boats.

I stand corrected: As my hearthfire is at the mine, I can still port back and forth, its just that I get tired.

could we get some calculations about the length of time required to recover from 100% travel weariness? Are we looking at hours, days, weeks, months, actual human Earth years?

Yeah pretty much. These guys make me feel bipolar; "maps and stuff yay :D" "you've just made it much harder to trade and interact with other people :'( ". I guess I'll just keep within my village and not bother meeting new people or going too far from my home. I know it's your game and all but maybe you guys should play it more, or listen to us more? I mean unless jorb was being facetious, he just made a big thread about the things he didn't like in the game, and one of them was travel. Then you guys go and make it worse instead of better? I mean yeah, you wanted to fix teleportation, but there is a proper order to things. This would be like putting in swimming before putting in constitution; it's neat and all, but it sort of misses the fun factor.

It's like we have jorb saying

8) I should be able to log in by my claim. In fact, I should be able to log in at villages I've been to, if they choose to allow that. Realism is fine and all, but I can't make good contact with people through in game means at present. This completely sucks. I don't want to have to rely on IRC and shit to play a little bit of a social game. I can't leave notes around me and hope on them being read by someone.
...
10) Trade needs to get easier, not harder. Also, I need some way to transport built objects at a reasonable pace. I don't want to build a fucking anvil with iron being what it is. It'll suck, and I don't want to put points in mining. I want to buy a pick axe. I want to buy iron to build cellars and shit that isn't affected by quality, and I want to buy prebuilt cauldrons from competent smiths. I could actually consider buying tea premade, if I could get it via some reasonably fast paced medium.
...
17) Iron. Srsly. This is ridiculous. I need to be able to get cellars, pick axes, cauldrons and meat grinders *somehow*. I'm locked out of half the game. I've been considering an outright attack on Swampcrazed. I can break palisades with snuff, bear cape and a pick axe.

and then a week later you cripple teleportation, making it harder to socialize, making it harder to trade, and making it harder to get things like iron, leaving people locked out of half the game, and you don't give us an alternative.

I think people are overreacting about the travel thing, I mean I can travel to my village to almost the bottom of the first grid, with less than a quarter of weariness.

..But then my Agility is over 80 so its probably more for everyone else.
