Maintenance downtime: Harddrive replacement (sigh)

Loftar stated that he is looking for a colocation near his home - that will make him independent in maintaining the server. With having physical access to the server and having it closer to his home everything sure would make it easier for him. Prolly the cost will be a bit higher first as he has to buy Server Hardware but on the other hand it would save him time and he hasn't to ask someone doing it for him.

Considering this i recommend to all that want to have HnH running in the future to donate...

I think the Hoster Hetzner has replaced the HDD at no cost. Prolly only few ppl do donate - but as we say in german: Kleinvieh macht auch Mist - which means every cent helps...and i sure will donate some of the money i get extra in december as i'm still playing and want to do further on...

the idea of J&L paying out dedicated hosting fees every single month to keep this piece of trash up and running makes me cringe.

this is exactly why i think they're crazy to have even spent the money replacing the HD, or why people even still play this game. i mean how many people are actually donating?

they didn't spend money on a new hd, hetzner replaced it because it failed

If you have constantly HDD destroying on your computer, just replace power supply unit. I had couple of servers and a lot of personal PC with problem like that.
