It takes less time to make a barrel of wort than a barrel of grape juice. QED.

People would already use demijohns because it's easier than opening a cupboard, taking a bucket and pouring wine into a glass. Convenience balances out the storage efficiency difference.

Not that theoretically it wouldn't be bad for wine in buckets to spoil. but gameplay wise I don't think there are any mechanics like that currently. Are there any cases where buckets have to keep track of time to change the properties of what they hold? That could cause issues later on, that would be a lot of buckets.

They really don't though. For your example, you'd have to carry a glass on you at all times. I've personally never done that, or known anyone who has. It's always been easier to use Tobacco in that fashion. Normally you'd have a LC by the idol loaded with buckets of wine and a glass. It's far cheaper to have 120L in buckets, than 50L in a demijohn.

That's the issue. If Wine turns into vinegar while in a wooden barrel, then why not the same happen in a wooden bucket? That never made sense to me. Milk and beer can rest easily in a 100L barrel, however wine cannot. So I don't see much of a reason to have buckets as a permanent holder. If the demijohn was at least 100L like a barrel, you could lift up your 100L barrel of wine and easily dump it into a demijohn; Then use it in the way you described. As it is now, I'd rather use LCs or cupboards.

If you are forced to deal with that much wine all the time, yeah it's cheaper but it doesn't make it convenient.

Realism isnt the same as gameplay. Wine turns into vinegar because vinegar is a object with a gameplay use. Having this transition, while a realistic aspect, doesn't mean gameplay wise it needs to have the same affect in all containers; buckets and world containers (like barrels and now demijohns), are completely different objects, and how they are set to behave have different gameplay mechanic issues to consider. That's all I'm saying.

I can understand you not wanting to use demijohns because they don't have the same volumne capacity, that's fine. But don't assume anyone who would use those objects only does so for decor; having a world object fluid container that won't spoil wine has been long needed.
