The easiest solution would simply be to be able to easily destroy anything on your own claim, yes. I've made comment about this before, as a hermit building a palisade felt awfully permanent and restrictive.

The focus of all decisions made nowadays seem to be based on balancing the raiding/griefing/siege aspects of the game, rather than the more important creative/building/sandbox aspects. It really is a shame that the focus of the game has shifted so far from what once made it interesting and appealing to so many.

They'r trying to fix the Player attitude. And they Can't. Is a hopeless race.
Is like Magic the gathering. Put out new cards, then ban it 'cuz are "too much strong". Here the cards are the players ideas, the ban are the "fix".
I call it LOOP.
Ps: About Magic, that's just a merchandising tecnique.

They should just add things so that players can defende and solve this troubles by themself.
"Someone wanna use my onw structure to block myself!" ---- all your structures belong to us are deletables and from simple structures you gain part of the materials. (40% if is your, 5% if isn't your but not walls. Simple structures are all those buildings that aren't for defense or too big. Just an example anyway). In this way you add a really interesting and enjoiable aspect of the game (the rebuild, the scavengers of old ruins, the obsessive builder that want rearrange things in his claim.<-- i call me in)

AND
solve 90% the griefing of "locked in".

(I reminds that ther's still the "i wall all your place" problem, but this is something that someone whould do if is in war. Is evil, but at last ther's some effort in it from the player. If the game was complete and there was a sort of defence, this whould not happen so easily and not so near the walls...but at the state of the game is just too early to think such things)

Just stop the wild fix, please... :/
Are we gonna regret your return?
Too bad and sad! >_<

I actually have no idea what you are trying to say here.
Of another era.

I think, what flame is trying to say is this:

All structures on your claim can be deleted and if they are simple structures(Anything small that aren't walls) you are refunded less than 50% of the materials used.
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.
W9 - Tartarus, til death/wizards came for the land itself.
W10 - ???, ruined and forgotten.

jorb said they wanted to do that but they couldn't.

I don't even want to know what kind of incentives for claim warfare that creates. I don't like claims at all as it is, and I certainly do not feel inclined in the slightest to give them more magical powers.

Which one is it?

lol'd
None of them if you ask me
I wasn't ever hit by the altspam warfare so I would've been happier with more content instead of fixing bugs made by the community
However, that no-soak-on-alt-HFs made me so happy
How about this: While has baby blue eyes, HF has no soak? And baby blue eyes lasts until you're online for like 6 hours? That would make even the first HFs destructible if they are of an useless alt
