Now thats a serious survival game where everything tries to kill you.

LadyV wrote:To be fair other than more steps in food prep it would only affect few things to add decay. vegetables. fruits, meats can all be preserved for months if not years, even with the timelines technology. Only raw items would be affected. So all you are adding is another step and more time to make and keep food. And since you want to add such that means farming is even more important becasue those few raw items you have to constantly replace or use up.

As someone who spends a fair amount of time farming and cooking in this game, and enjoys it, I would like to stand opposed.
I've been hoping for a more involved farming system for a while, where weather, soil nutrients, pest control (insect and animal) and disease are all relevant factors in farming, and food decay is relevant to cooking, storage, and surviving the winter... All of this in a MMO environment, specifically Haven.
And even preserved foods don't last forever.

Why are you implying that new content or more steps in a process is the same thing as grind? You wouldn't instead consider it to be additional content added to the overall process to either make it:
a) more interesting; or
b) more difficult.
From Wikipedia:
"Grinding is a term used in video gaming to describe the process of engaging in repetitive tasks during video games. The most common usage is in the context of MMORPGs like Realm of the Mad God, Tibia, or Lineage in which it is often necessary for a character to repeatedly kill AI-controlled monsters, using basically the same strategy over and over again to advance their character level to be able to access newer content."
How is that akin to what they are talking about in terms of food decay? You truly don't feel that all of this additional content would eventually work together at some point? Like Lunarius said above, some people do enjoy cooking and farming quite a bit and would wholly appreciate more extensive systems and honestly, what they are talking about does not sound like it would be any sort of repetitive process, just additional steps. That is not grind, it is content.
Sorry if you still feel differently.

It's not though, not in my opinion. If it were you'd essentially be saying you hate every single process already implemented in to the game because guess what, it's the exact same thing only with less content applied to it. However undesirable it may seem to you, still not grind.
LadyV wrote:Excuse me? Please do not put words in where I did not say. And no I do not hate what exists. Is farming as it exists a grind, yes. Do I enjoy it as it is, yes. Would I enjoy still doing that same work load and then add up to twice more? No!
And for clarification try option 3 of grind in this link.
