So how's beta going? Haven't been checking the news for a while.

Beta hasn't started yet. That's not for another few months. There are supposed to be some invites going out soon for a late-stage alpha testing (if those invites haven't gone out already, that is). If you haven't been keeping up, that's by invite only, so don't bother asking. ;) Those that qualify already know that they do and those that don't are speculating about who might or might not get an invite.

There was a recent streaming webcast done of Salem with some Q&A with J&L and their producer. The link is quite a few pages back at this point. Here's the link to Paradox's twitch.tv page with the video (it's the 90 minute video, not the 15 minute one): http://www.twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive. You'll need to forward the video about 15 minutes, though.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I always loved the movie "Sleepy Hollow", mainly for its aesthetics. Salem will be off the hook, hope to meet you all in it when it is released.
The low life has lost its appeal
And I'm tired of walking these streets
To a room with its cupboards bare

Loftar is too embarrassed to visit the forums because he hasn't visited in so long. Yeah, I know...vicious circle.

Looks like in Salem you'll have to use black bile to acquire skills:

Jorb
We’re going to roll out the closed alpha pretty soon and the beta out beginning of next year, for the final release in the summer of 2012.

Can't wait..

Can't wait to establish a secret society in Salem to plot intriques, take over villages and/or towns et cetera. Player run governments should be essential in this kind of MMO experience..
