No matter what solution is given in an attempt to combat alts or custom clients, the response is always "not going to work," "wouldn't matter," etc. despite the fact that players will agree something needs to be done about these aspects in order to mitigate the damage they can do.

It's pretty lame, I know. I have very little hope that Jorb and Loftar are going to come up with reasonable solutions based on their lack of giving a shit about these things (custom clients in particular) for the most part but we shall see. I am rather surprised by the fact that we have such "capable" programmers who know for a fact a closed source client would prevent nothing, but are not capable enough to actually offer a solution of their own.

It's too bad.

Lol are you that retarded ? To alt abuse one needs shit ton of proxies meaning you either pay or get if free and even if your get it free good luck getting multiple clients on same computer through different proxies AND controll said multiple alts at the same time. The struggle isnt worth the for what one gains from alt abuse, that is with the new combat.

Loftar could write clients in Assembly and make them as convoluted as possible, then just tell GL HF to anyone trying to reverse engineer.

Something must be done. This is something, so therefore it must be done.

The second sentence says precisely to make alt abuse more worth it.

How can we expect the transition from the current World 7 HnH to Hafen when that is released? Will it be a sudden, "Okay, server restarting, Hafen is now live," or will it be more like the servers going down for a few days and an announcement a day ahead of time from when the Hafen goes live?

It'll go down something like this. ^^
