So their opinions actually do matter, as long as their opinion also coincides with your predefined conceptions of what's important to talk about and what's not? Okay that makes perfect sense now. Thanks.

Clearly you enjoy whatever mental disability you possess. I'm sorry.

Anyone interested in explaining to the retard why the opinions of the playerbase are irrelevant when compared to the desires of the devs? It seems to fail at argument, bringing in unrelated things like 'den why does we haz forums? O_O'

Haba has already proven you wrong on the mine thing a couple of posts up the page, he found an iron mine by just strolling around for a bit. Also guess what, you are supposed to work in a team to achieve something. More players not only offer you better chances at speeding up all that grind, it also offers more opportunities for proper networking, which is very valuable. There are always people selling mines, people quitting who might let you know you can have their mine if you befriended them before etc. etc.

Building up Sodom has taken us 2 weeks right after mapreset. Right now even newbs can find some abandoned farms they can get stuff from, so the basic stuff is done even faster. A buddy of mine joined back less than a month ago, is approaching the 10 million lp mark now. Granted he had support with it, but you can work up your way much faster even as a completely new character if you know what you are doing.

Good q stuff you can often buy in your region, if not someone has to swallow the bitter pill and travel to Nople or some other trading hub.

To shorten this a bit, the data on time it takes to do stuff you present us as facts just shows that you clearly have no idea how to effectively build up a town or faction able to compete.

Edit: Lots of posts in between, but you will get which post I am referring to.

P.S.: As a completely new player there is always the option to join an existing village to grind up quick. You can always leave after that and start something on your own.

I'm 100% sure that there were a lot of new players that are as good as those from big villages but they can't do shit coz they don't have ranger bow, 100 gold and silver bars at home... Problem with current world is that not all resources are available to everyone. Simple as that. No matter what the fuck you do u won't get them on ur own.

Actually that's not a reason to reset the world at all. The only reason to ever reset the world is to implement game altering development changes. A reset is intended to help the developers fine tune the game, not to help newbies, make the game easier, or balance the resources.

In theory yes, but in H&H that's the only thing that stops runaway characters. That is, a character who's as old as the world and continually progressing to the point that no one has any hope of competing with him. There's no caps or anything implemented to make new players able to compete with people from the beginning. That's the problem DarkFall has and is currently a problem in H&H.

*Raises hand*

Oh, Oh, let me try sir. Because the developers make the game and since they are not getting paid for doing so they could give two shits for what the people want since for them this is just a hobby?

And it's not only mine, but also water, clay and soil. Find all those stuff somehow close together... GL with that.

Nobody has those ressources close together. People had to put effort in it to connect all those spots. Before you tell me there are no spots left, same arguments apply as with mines, also I found a q103 soil spot not too long ago, 10 minute walk from 2 bigger settlements. Proving once again people rather complain than to actually go out and look for what they need.

Actually you've just made it apparent that you're not very good at engaging in civil argument with someone on the internet. We largely agree on many main points, and yet you seem to keep resorting to poorly typed personal insults as straw men instead of actually addressing the issue at hand.

You literally said "I don't understand why people think that their opinion actually matters." in reference to those who share a different viewpoint than you, which I think is really close minded and naive. Just because someone doesn't feel the same as you or has only played the game for a couple weeks doesn't invalidate their opinion or ideas. My only problem with this really is how you handled the situation, which I've said before that I think it's a weak defense mechanism meant to invalidate the opinions of others instead of actually address the real issue.

It's sad that you're basically incapable of engaging in actual discussion on the issue though, as it seems we share a lot of the same viewpoints. I just don't appreciate the way you seem to handle things when someone brings up an opposing viewpoint.

Well actually, Sweden pays game developers and you could count donations as payment, but I doubt those return much of a profit. Point is though, both of the things that pay for the game are based on the amount of players and their happiness. :P

And to back up your argument most of this game is uncharted so who knows what other shit we could not be seeing in all these supergrids?

I just wanted to take the opportunity here to say thank you to the developers of this game. I realize this thread has more or less devolved into an argument, so it seems like a good time. I also hope you're sleeping.

I think you probably need this right now. I am programming ignorant personally, but I have a lot of exposure to others working on projects that I know its very frustrating and difficult to find your code glitches. Its unlikely all this 'spirited debate' here is going to reduce that, so maybe this post will help a little when you come back to it.

I'm a new player, i've only been here 2-3 months. I have not yet been looted/destroyed/murdered and I live virtually in the middle of the map. I have a small claim with some sheep that I acquired when I found them roving around in the wilderness. I waited 7 days before I lasso'd them to make sure that their owner was not going to reclaim them (I think the came from a claim abandoned so long the palisades had decayed. The claim itself is still protected. I have never trespassed against anyone, ever.) I just recently got the last of the seeds i've been trying to find for my garden from WWW's. As mentioned above my, hearth fire DID spawn in the middle of 'civilization' in the ruins of someone else's disbanded village. The area was heavily deforested. This did not turn me off or make me want to leave. I read about this game and how you can change the environment. I've started working hard to replant. I've found a few mind-60's resources areas, i'm raising the quality of the trees as I go. They're not even on my claim, anyone could come and use them as they wish without any resistance what so ever. I have no metals and when I have something of value to trade, i'm hoping to get some tools. I recognize this may take some time or never happen at all as it will be difficult to find a mine without relocation. I accept this completely.

This is the most interesting game i've ever played, the concept is very sound and I recognize that I am, in effect, a play tester. You still have my gratitude.

In closing, as a new person, I hope there is not a wipe. I wouldn't want anyone's work to be ruined. If there is a wipe, I will still be here regardless and continue telling others about this innovative game.

Regards,
Nafaustu
