Maintaini9ng equal loss is not a goal of the game's development, especially if it gtets in the way of implementing new features. Again, the devs don't give a fuck about what you did or didn't lose. I don't want a reset not because I'd lose my stuff, but because it'd add yet more waiting to features I've been waiting for for over two years.

I said also it'd be cool to implement the features before bringing the server back up.

That means no server for 2-3 months.

Actually, denying playing at all for months on end is more like GTFO than welcome.

In alpha tests (I been in a few) servers can go down for months. It is part of development as much as wipes, inequalities, and everything else. As you mentioned, this is a staging ground for concepts. It is a game too, but in the end it IS alpha. If the server needs to go down for a month or two, even three, in order to progress concepts and test effectively, implement smoothly, and maintain a game that becomes more and more playable then so be it.

Except it *doesn't* need to, they can just reboot it and let nuked people deal with it. Like they did every single time it happened before.

Sounds like more of a gtfo than server suspension.

So when Loftar says "accounts are safe" does that mean forum accounts or the game characters as well?

As in, if my village has been nuked, will my character still exist, but only be able to log into the wilderness somewhere?

That would be sad (we were really getting somewhere :P) but also kindof funny - humanitarian crisis in the hearthlands :P. I hope none of the major powers get their bases wiped, I can see things getting extremely violent if so :P.

If our characters are gone too, well thats a different problem... whichever faction(s) survives the holocaust will have pretty much complete freedom for a couple of weeks. Which could be even nastier..

that would be catastrophic. everyone with a criminal scent would be extremely vulnerable, and if they didn't log in right away they would most likely die. :?
