To be honest, I don't really know what I was thinking to begin with when I made the crops work like that. It seems quite a bit stupid in hindsight.

The reason we didn't mention it in the announcement was simply because we forgot, though. :)

You know, a gradual change would have been nice. Take 10 points off a week, so people who care can earn themselves 10 more farming points, and keep their existing crop quality. The hat - which you didn't announce either - adds back 10 - so I've "only" lost 40 points. I think I earned 10 this weekend, grinding out carrot cake. (My carrots were low qual, so I wasn't going to nerf them by harvesting them), ROBs (low qual poppies) and piroshkis (large onion stockpile; I'm not touching the ones in the ground for a bit longer). Wheat was a problem too - what I had in the ground was too good for me to want to harvest. Meanwhile the best farmer I know was relatively new, and _very_ specialized. He's not affected by the second farming nerf, as he's still recovering from the first one [Q100+ to Q10 overnight]. But he can't see his normal quality levels, and was last seen living on carrot cake - after at least a day's work setting up the ability to do so.

And by the way, another of my friends quit this weekend.

instead of complaining about having to actually raise your stats more evenly and having to specialize, you could... do those things.

Or slaughter some sheep and boars. Boars are a dime a dozen.

Of course that requires that you have a meat grinder for lamb sausages.

True. Just need to find some way of buying relatively cheaper metal for a basic meatgrinder, anyway.
