Sounds like a grand idea.

Just for posterity, are charter stones gone for good?

I'm going to miss welcoming new players into the game.
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

While your intentions are benign, I'm quite sure that on the whole the charter stone system was mostly used to grief newbies. A murder bot set to auto aggro any new character that pops up in a walled off area around a charter stone is all it would take.

That's what I had heard previously, which was more than a little irritating. Charter stones are the primary method by which I expanded my villages back when we had them.

But if you give people the opportunity to be dicks, they're going to be dicks. Ah well. And honestly, in the new set up it would just circumvent that whole 'no hearth secrets/random wilderness starts only' thing, which isn't at all desirable.

So I booked Friday off work for a long weekend with Hafen 2.0.

Can I still get in on the 21st? It's going to be like a a death anniversary or some shit, wandering around, aimless.

Armageddon? Would be pretty cool to see some crazy stuff happening to the world, like Orc invasions (Mortal online), or some other catastrophes.. Maybe someone will live to tell the tale or survive with some high tier gear.

I can see that you are invested heavily in World 7, or so it seems from your posts, but you need to understand the fact that within a couple weeks of World 8 launch there won't be a population in World 7 sufficiant enough for them to bother with keeping that server up. Everyone but you is just acknowledging the inevitible.....

they kept the server up even for a population lower than 30 ... it's so funny that you are so much interested in getting w7 down instead of just waiting to hop into hafen and just don't care whether there's W7 going on ... your motives is clear: wipe everything that reminds of your failure ... i feel for you
