I think Salem is just another step in development of H&H. Mb not all players will like this evolution, but it`s time for it.
And about timer - i think just site will be avaliable and/or alpha-test ))

Actualy it`s own community will be created as soon as game starts. Mb a lot of players (and hope i will be among them) from H&H will try Salem, but there will be a lot of other ppl.
Mb H&H will always be some kind of sanbox, but Salem is what was created on the base of H&H.
And it`s interesting for me how commercial part will be done in the Salem. As i understand it will be F2P game )) Will it be in-game-store or something different - interesting )

I think Teck pretty much hit what I was thinking when I read this post, but I believe it goes a bit farther than how he actually describes it. In many ways the core game concepts define what kinds of players are going to show up and stick around. You can actually manipulate what kind of player base you have by changing some of those concepts over time. (Word of warning: you can just alienate 90% of the gaming population by doing this. Can anyone say "Star Wars Galaxies"?) If this game wasn't an MMO, it'd either be just another crappy simulation or a basic start on a great survival game.TeckXKnight wrote:That's like saying every RPG ever that uses Health Points as a measure of HP is clearing ripping off Nethack or whatever came first.
I believe that would be the fore-runner to Dungeons & Dragons (and the name eludes me).
