I wasn't a huge fan of the new LP system at first, but I think I'm starting to get used to it/like it more. World 5 is alright, I say. It needs a little tweaking, but it's definitely got some interesting ideas.

A question: Whats the difference between grindning and raiding 2 ours ant-hills to found an empress?
I never grind in w4, only have done the things i need or want to do. But now, i must grind. Chiping stones (that i never need) to find cat gold, raiding every f*** ant hill (what i dont want) and running arround to find ladybugs, not collecting berrys, them i cant find, cause i need the few, rare lp's for hunting. But this doesent give any LP or Curosities. So now iam a grinder, or? Where is the difference? Or better:
Whats the developers definiton of grinding?

Has it been fixed?

You have completely failed at the new system.

In other words, the new system has completely failed at him.

Basically, there was a sizeable population of players who enjoyed the freedom of move given by the old system, and which lost that freedom with the new system. Even with decent understanding of the game process (I've been raiding ant hills and grinding decent curios since yesterday) and decent results, I have lost that feeling of freedom I had when I started W4.

All of this to fix LP grinding abuses that were only used by a fraction of the hardcore population and which could have been solved differently.

my opinion:

if this new system to was put in place to solve the grinding problem, it failed. in the same sense that putting up a wall to stop your hungry cat from scratching at your door because your not feeding it is a failure, your covering up the problem, not fixing it. and eventualy that cat's going to run off and go eat somewhere else. the problem with grinding was that there was the need for it, not that it was being done.

Holy moses you people are so full of FAIL I can see it trickling out of your noses.

The new system does three awesome things:

A) It removes the need to play 23 out of 24 hours in a day to keep up with the zero-lifers. You can simply enjoy the game instead of focusing on keeping up with the ever steepening curve of those grinding machines. You can go out with your friends (okay alot of you probably don't have these), get a job (I know, I know, you're unqualified), get laid (Hahahahaha). Okay so I can do those things and still enjoy the fact that I'm not being lapped by the rest of you.

2) It makes community and villages that much more impressive and important. A massive working village will almost be required for people to reap the full benefits from the game. Trade and politics will move into an even more necessary realm, so douchebag factions (You know who you are) will find the world an even less appetizing place.

III) Raiding and murder will now require a second thought because you can no longer "grind up" a secondary character over a few days. Even if you just sit and allow an alt to study, it will take much, much longer for it to be grown into an effective griefer, so you basically eliminate (as best as anyone can) the asshole who only gets off on killjoying.

For me the game has returned to a "play for fun, play for an hour or two" bit of fun to see friends, build a community and discover that sandboxiness that I loved from early W3.

I am not saying this in a bitchy tone, but rather in a serious here's my input since I'm playing what's technically an alpha stage game.

This new LP system is terrible. It's not fun to do, it's boring, pointless, doesn't solve the grinding issue (I never grinded ever in W4, but now I have to keep making Cow Cones and finding Dandelions: and thats all I can do because I don't have the LP do to do much else yet). While yea maybe a bunch of power players grinded, the old system was much better and funner as a game because I was rewarded for doing standard game things, and things like building new things, crafting new items and creating my home and plot became worthwhile not only for their obvious uses, but my character would develop as I watched my land and territory and inventory develop.

Now I essentially run around the map chasing and looking for things in the hopes of just very slightly forward with the game.

It's ashame because I've really enjoyed playing H&H, and besides the combat system, have thought this was a well done and very enjoyable game. Now that basic things are frustrating and tedious, I don't know how much longer I am going to hold out with the new system because I will not play a game that is not fun.

I hope that the new system turns out to be better/grow on me, is further developed, or returned to the old system...because if this is how this system is going to work for all of W5, then I'm not going to play, at least until W6 in the hopes that the system has been corrected.

Thank you though for up to now an enjoyable game.

P.S.: For players like me who have legitmate concerns/issue with the new system (not those who are moaning and just offering nothing deeper than "It sucks!"), can other people not go "Oh you just fail" or "Noob" or "You suck"? First your offering nothing constructive to the discussion, and second, saying such things doesn't make you cool or a much better player or member. Thanks.
