I was reading that the lag spikes are attributed to a faulty NIC. Would it not be easy, affordable and feasible to replace said NIC?

Server appears to be hard down at the moment. Not able to authenticate. Just echoing what everyone else is reporting today. Friends of mine report more of the same.
