p.s. you only need lumberjacking and carpentry to build a house, easily obtainable with the initial discovery bootstrap LP

I've been using ladybugs, dandelions and cow cones. SO I haven't been just using cow cones, just the three openly available. And since I played w4 I'm aware of what you need for building a house, and I have already obtained it. But it took me quite some time to, even with the "discovering lp". Due to where I spawned, I didn't have much of it around. So while I appreciate your wonderful advice, it still doesn't solve the issue of the system being terribly boring and unrewarding. Because all the time I have to spend building a house is a lot of time lost to get curioisities, which I need more right now than a house because I can't build a whole lot else besides basic things.

Maybe though you didn't get the point...I am not necessarily having TROUBLE with the new system (I already have a bunch of stats increased, leather, and a few skills), I just find it BORING, SLOW, and just plain stupid...the change was really uneccesary IMO.

In other words, the new system has completely failed at him.

Basically, there was a sizeable population of players who enjoyed the freedom of move given by the old system, and which lost that freedom with the new system. Even with decent understanding of the game process (I've been raiding ant hills and grinding decent curios since yesterday) and decent results, I have lost that feeling of freedom I had when I started W4.

All of this to fix LP grinding abuses that were only used by a fraction of the hardcore population and which could have been solved differently.

what freedom, exactly? what do you wish to do now that you can't do?

The freedom to develop my char without farming curiositis. The freedom to develop by bulding a house, going hunting or wandering around and picking nettlese for ropes or berrys for cakes.

That was my freedom in W4. Loging in, and doing what i want to do, or what is neccesary for the village. And now, sadly, i cant do what i want. In the one hand i have'nt the lps (and dont see how long it takes to get them), in the other i must farm for the coriositys. The first watch is in the study-inventory and fill it up. And this can take much time, nerves and (for me) it kills fun.

Clearly it's through sheer dumb luck. That's why there are claims everywhere, people hunting, farming, and mining and hearthlings thriving everywhere. LUCK! Because it's obvious you can't achieve anything through a bit of exploration and playing around.

How does it give you MORE freedom? In both systems you can always just do what you want, but with the old system you were at least guaranteed a meagre sum of LP for doing it. Now you have to choose between leveling your character or leveling your goods. Time spent on one doesn't easily translate to the other like before.

I've been xploring the past 2-3 days and haven't even found a damn rabbit. So in some cases, it is luck.
