Because in "late-game" being forced to hunt to keep up with combat stats is freedom. Anyway, its the second day and no one know how this works apart from the few noob curiosties.

How does it give you MORE freedom? In both systems you can always just do what you want, but with the old system you were at least guaranteed a meagre sum of LP for doing it. Now you have to choose between leveling your character or leveling your goods. Time spent on one doesn't easily translate to the other like before.

At the moment your stats are only capped by the amount of work you do and the kinds of food you have -- which you achieve via time, exploration, and doing stuff. At the same time, you're passively gaining lp through curiosities and gaining curiosities while gathering food and building. The more you build, the easier and faster it is to produce more food and do more work in a localized area, opening up more FEPs. It's almost as if it were a cycle of some sort?!

I think the biggest flaw in the new system is that it doesn't feel fun.

Atleast to me.

The work you do has no direct impact on your character's stats. I'm not even complaining about the new system, but I can't possibly see how anyone could view it as giving you MORE freedom than the previous one.

I agree, I think making the lp gradual rather than getting it all at once at the end would be alot more satisfying

I don't know.
I feel like now me and my friends can just make cheese and build all day without having to worry about lp because they have it on study :)

This is a valid concern. One obvious, and constantly pointed out issue, is that there are no immediate returns so you don't get immediate gratification to push you forward. It's not as exciting to get 2k lp 3 hours from now as it is to get 2k lp from a big kill. You don't get the rush and the delay does put off some of the fun then. What do you find draining the fun for you?

Playing like that actually gives you a LOT more LP than spamming cone cows.

And WTF Burg, you only got 100k?

Hmm then i doing realy wrong, or have a bug. :/

Well, ants are the only reliable ones, but spiders and their webs should be pretty damn good, and you get them randomly (fairly rare, though), when you forage anything. For building, there's wood shavings and weird roots.

Cone cow is really the worst curiosity out there, I only use it when I have a free slot and nothing better to put in it.

LOL..you don't really want me to answer that question do you from my own presumption? Granted I do trully understand the daunting task of coming online and seeing a 115 page thread. And so do not fault you a bit for not reading every page. However, with some of things that has been said and revealed and bantered. Your question is so loaded that just repeating it sounds like an entire infantry of the elite Navy Seals locking and loading their m16s.

SO, why don't you instead tell US how (considering things such as finding www',uping expl to 13 u say? @ 12000lp right there, the skills you've bought , drying time for the wwws, basic gear = things like leathermaking and sewing I presume? A claim = 4000 lp + all skills needed to open Yeo up..and all you "suggest" in your statement which just off the top of my head would be what? 50-60000lp at least. In a day and half?) you did it. I'm sure it wasnt the "kill yourself over and over and over for lp payout and slider moving BUG AND EXLPOIT was it? I mean because that would indicate sheer rude FAIL to come in here and brag and act surpsie that people DO NOT have that if they played legit? SO I'm SURE that is not it. So please yes, enlighten us all as to just how you honesty did it. I will certianly put the advice to good use. That I promise.

Seriously, learn the new system, explore the world, interact with others. Or get the fuck out.

Who are you to say gtfo? People can complain and should complain. I have read the majority of this thread and most complains are to the point and some good arguments can be found too. And they just express opinions. Why should your opinion be of any more weight? Stop telling people what to do.
