I only died once, BTW, and I didn't intend it. Damn aurochsen, can't even give me a bit of hair :(

oooooooo I see, humm, well, may I congradulate you on getting your charcter outfitted and safe and sound while avoiding all the tedious grind and bullshite. Must be nice...reminds me of why I never got anywhere in all those facebook games I quit. I just felt "wierd" harrassing all my friends to be my neighbors...LOL

That is quite asute of you, no wonder you (what was you said in your confession) pushed for the change with joy and enthusiasm...lol They say Typhoid Mary was smiling at the gates of every town she entered...lol So then I guess in reality one would have to say you have no clue or idea then the foundation of the dismay of the majority of respondants so far. Are sure it's kosher then to pass judgement on the reactions? I mean, seeing as you've found a nice way to avoid all the things they are talking about? MAybe you can "drop by" and give me all the basic gear/backpack and so forth so I can then take tomorrows 2500 lp (omg...lol) and get a few more points of exploration as todays 2500 will finally get me yeo. Then I can wait on leatherworking and stuff and I too can go skipping through the woods able to finally see some low stuff at least? Besides BB's and Taproot that is.

Same happened to me. I got cocky and figured I could handle an inland herd. Guess who got run down? :D

I was going to pull a hair off an aurochs, when the server crashed :d. I guess it's the noob protection system.

I'm not saying I got it for nothing. For example, I delivered a crate of blueberries and a crate of dandelions to my campmates just an hour ago. Hell, I even gave away an ant queen yesterday, since I found two in a row, and figured it's better that somebody gets LP now rather than me later.

I give this world 1-4 weeks. When most "good" players and ofc cheaters (aka exploiters) will hit end-game they will face situation like this:

They will discover every curiousities in game and will see that only few (best one) give good LP per invested time and study. So all they will need to do and only one way to get LP at that point will be to farm mats for them craft them and study them. Everything will be rewardless and pointless to do. After that a lot of ppl will get bored to the bottom. So no combat, no mining, no building, no farming will give u LP. I think that even murder won't (I hope not to fuck all griefers out there). So there will be no point in doing anything exept fighting for resources and maybe enslave ppl around to do dirty work for u that doesn't pay u any LP's.

The new system does three awesome things:

A) It removes the need to play 23 out of 24 hours in a day to keep up with the zero-lifers. You can simply enjoy the game instead of focusing on keeping up with the ever steepening curve of those grinding machines. You can go out with your friends (okay alot of you probably don't have these), get a job (I know, I know, you're unqualified), get laid (Hahahahaha). Okay so I can do those things and still enjoy the fact that I'm not being lapped by the rest of you.

2) It makes community and villages that much more impressive and important. A massive working village will almost be required for people to reap the full benefits from the game. Trade and politics will move into an even more necessary realm, so douchebag factions (You know who you are) will find the world an even less appetizing place.

III) Raiding and murder will now require a second thought because you can no longer "grind up" a secondary character over a few days. Even if you just sit and allow an alt to study, it will take much, much longer for it to be grown into an effective griefer, so you basically eliminate (as best as anyone can) the asshole who only gets off on killjoying.

For me the game has returned to a "play for fun, play for an hour or two" bit of fun to see friends, build a community and discover that sandboxiness that I loved from early W3.

Oh I guess you have a life because I can hear you sucking Jorbs virtual cock so much it makes my ears hurt from all that juicy slurping all the way from whichever fucking country you come from. I can hear the yessayer spunk dripping out of your ears for crying out loud. We have never questioned that SOME like the idea, but in general we are disatisfied. All this fail this fail that crap and gtfo language tires me.. Its so apparent that you just try to make yourself worth something by calling others losers. Not cool fanboy!

Butko, you do realize that you need multiple types of curiosities to make full use of your study slots?

Or try to enjoy the game with your fellow citizens and make fun? Isn't this game about survival instead of farming LP all day?

Here's a suggestion: What if we kept the curio and discovery system, and reimplemented 1/2 LP (or whatever percentage balance dictates) for everything else???
I totally see where I think they were trying to go with this system, and it is a very interesting concept. But I've mentioned it before, you learn by studying yes, but experiencing and doing what you study is just as important for real learning IRL. Why not use both?
Would that be acceptable to everyone?
