I agree that the above idea could be a good alternative to wilderness spawning. (Wilderness spawns are the bane of a hermit's existence.) I don't like the idea of having to pay for it. That would give paying groups a significant advantage over non-paying groups (Plus the idiot who spends money and then advertises or selects a crappy password are going to complain).

Btw I though of something that might be useful to both games. It's already stated that your character is a colonist form Europe (character creation screen is literally a London dock) so it's illogical for you to just pop into existence someone in the woods all alone. Their should be some mechanism depositing you on the coast, ideally with some other people just as if you got off a boat.

bwa, my idea! somewhere around page 4 or so... anyway you explained "my" idea pretty precisely

oh and

Thus it would appear! I was actually completely oblivious myself until I saw myself in this video @ 1:54 some time ago. :)

Thanks for all the 'gratz and everything. I hope we'll be able to live up to at least some of the expectations. I believe we have fairly solid mechanics that will make the game play at least somewhat differently from H&H. :)

Here's another write-up from the convention. http://www.examiner.com/pc-game-in-nati ... on-preview

I've ignored quite a few PMs and threads while I've been away, so If I've missed something important, feel free to point me to it!

while there are some interesting tidbits (Mountaineering, the 4 Humors) overall the writing in those articles is a bit embarrassing, highlighting the general lack of research done on the subject

'Farmville with PvP'
This made me shudder; so indepth and accurate its almost scary! :D
But, no shit, the author of the review actually saw the game and concludes that?

this "article" mentions farmville 7 times.

Exactly, did the author even play H&H or Salem?
I do not believe Farmville should ever be used to describe a game.
