Making it a bit of a challenge to make the good ones?

Arguably it's a bit arbitrary, sure.

It has always seemed out of place to me.

Plus it never turns to vinegar right so just place a couple at your idol and carry the glass around with you!

Sure, this is nice indeed.

Make characters walk(all speeds) a bit faster if they have a map of that area with them.

Good coders can do anything. :P

That actually makes sense... you would know your local area a bit better than forign areas...

What if we were able to lift a barrel, and pour all wine/beer into the demijohn? So you wouldn't need to use a bucket 5 times just to move wine from barrel to demijohn.

(same could be done with winepress and barrel :P )

a Ink curio sounds like a superb idea.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy
