It will alleviate the problem and make it known that it is not acceptable. A banishment will get rid of a person that doesn't find it worth their time to evade the ban – and if we don't banish people just because they can avoid the ban via various means, then nothing is a bannable offense. If calling people faggots is bad, and you know it, then perhaps you shouldn't contrive these apologies for it.
because its the person who chooses to put those words in his message. You cant ban thoughts.

A moderator can never stop you from thinking. You can be stopped from expressing those thoughts in some environments. If you feel that you have this inalienable right to say anything anywhere – you're wrong, at least in the sense that you're supposed to get away with it without consequence.
And secondly this is a game forum not some super serious real life problems discussion.

You are saying real things to real people. These are not some virtual opponents.

the fuck? What a dumb thing to say

TeckXKnight wrote:Sorry, new job for me and I've been picking up a lot of overtime so I can't get to reports as quickly as before. When things calm down I'll be able to moderate more swiftly.

This is understandable, however...

Also, not every mod wants to tackle every report, especially when there's a history to it that they're not familiar with.

Please explain to me what about that thread (or most threads for that matter) would make someone question whether or not they should delete it? For example the thread I reported had no responses at the time and it was quite obviously a TERRIBLE thread. If a mod is on he should deal with reports, especially when it is as simple as deleting or moving to Hel. There was nothing about that thread worthy of thinking twice about deletion/locking.

We're conscripts. We tackle the problems that we want to handle and not the ones that we don't. Not everyone wants to clean up everything. Even I'm guilty of, on some days, just leaving a few especially problematic reports open for another moderator to deal with. =)

Teck let's be honest here, you're the only mod so far that actually cares enough to respond to this thread with legitimate replies. Most mods are inactive/useless, Sabinati does his own thing, Jackard is a douchebag, and I hate to admit it (not really) but borka is absolutely one of the worst mods I have ever seen. The guy literally deleted a portion of this forum's history in one, fell swoop if you recall.

Call yourself what you want but conscript is not the word I would use in this case. From what I've seen, reports aren't ignored based on the content of the reported post/thread but on who is doing the reporting. You can try and tell me not everyone wants to clean up everything but it's more like a select few just don't want to deal with certain individuals. Unfortunately for them this is a forum and they are a moderator and that is the job and if they don't like it they should make room for someone else.

Kaios, Borka made a mistake, we all do that, apart from deleting that thread he is pretty much like Teck in that he tries to clean up the forum and is conscientious, helpful and fair.

He was a little overzealous for some at the start but he has toned that down, I think it's a bit unfair to say he is the worst moderator, imo both him and Teck do a good job here.

Not saying the others don't - they all just handle things in different ways. Sabi is unique, lol, and you hardly ever see the others. :)

Borka deleted that thread because he don't want FBI party van at Jorbs place. I am happy with current moderators, they are doing their job well and I don't want ANY other new moderators. These selected people know how to do their job on forums and rarely go overboard with their bans.
