This was also true before? What's the difference.

Older people are wiser than younger people. You can't catch someone in experience no matter how "active" you are.

Ehm no it wasnt? Let's say older player was grinding lp 8 hours per day, and newer 14 hours per day. Eventually the newer would catch up to him because he was getting more LP. That is not the case with this system.

I BARELY managed to swim to another nearby island, where I found more nothing and 2 rabbits. I plan on using their hide for either bunny slippers or two flasks, so I can attempt to swim to other islands, I plan on cooking the meat likely in 20 minutes when I log on for another curiosity so I can buy my character some more time to look for more nothing.

Sounds like this assumes a certain, implausible scenario in which each player is kept constantly stuffed with the same valued curios...

Yeesh, what's with all these server crashes? This is the third one today, just from my recollection.

The curiosities work like this: The easiest to gather ones give a decent amount of LP at full change, and only take a few hours at most to study.

Some of the "rarer" ones and some also easy to make take much longer but also give quite a large amount of LP. These are the ones less active players will be using.

A player that is online for a long time and actively seeking out the best LP curio's with the shortest times (currently ants/ladybug/etc) and switching them up as soon as they are done will catch the less active player in no time, because although the less active player will still be gaining LP, he or she will be gaining it at a much slower rate.

And also assumes that the older player can't be killed.

Why so implausible? I bet once we've all played a little there will be a few curios that will prevail over the others and those will be spammed in the study window, just like the ants (ant empresses) are now. That means that the older player will be using high Q "ant empresses" and the newer will be using lower Q or similar Q (due to the "soft cap" Quality is going to hit because of this system)

I was talking about a scenario where both players are online long enough to get the best curios (currently ants/ladybug/etc).
