To be fair, Boston is kind of a Nice Thing™ in a way. Hanging out and looking at people or seeing who's stocked at the moment or whatnot is fun. Obviously we'd never do it in Haven, but I can't really deny that even having the Ring of Brodgar was a bit fun while it lasted.

Contact and conversation with others can be reassuring and fun on many levels. Have you considered something sillier like a dreamtime where we can go to sleep and explore a habbo-hotel-esque irc channel with our characters? I feel like a lot of the issue with Boston was centralized on the gameplay it added. An entirely disconnected version that offered nothing but the socialization would be kind of cool in my opinion.

I cannot for the life of me remember us ever saying "3 months". ^^

Sorry, I immediate equate 'few' with 3 and 'couple' with 2.

oh snap, you angered god. Let this mortal know peril!
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

It's funny, when I first joined Haven in 2010-2011, the game had just entered the Dark Ages of no updates.

The only "update" I saw for the longest time was when they increased the cost for crossroads and didn't allow them to be built indoors anymore.
I actually didn't even know that the devs read the forums for the first year I was playing the game aside from seeing old posts from 2009.

The development that I've seen in my time playing Haven since 2011 has been:
-Seeing them fix bugrams
-Changing the material cost and placement for crossroads
-Removing charter stones
-Removing bear-bashing of vidols and auth objects (for the most part)
-The changes that came with world 7 which basically translates into decaying pclaims, demijohns, changed movement combat, hhp damage after a criminal act and gimped swords
-Fixing several wall-jumps

It's sad to see such little development in 4 years, but at the same time I'm incredibly grateful to just have what we have right now.
I can honestly say that Haven is my favourite game out there right now, and one of the best games that I have ever played for an extended period of time.

I've had some of the most fun that I have ever had in any videogame while playing this 2D, buggy, F2P game.

That being said, tinder drills are/were shit and you should feel bad.
