Well another gratz and great work here ( on both games ;))

However I do I a few questions regarding this combination. H&H will be H&H and Salem will be Salem, agreed.
Though I'd imagine that the core game play is about the same. Unless you don't agree that Salem is based on H&H in some way from the beginning.
You know the game and it development better then I :P

Anyhow not the point. My question was do you expect to use H&H in any way what so ever imaginable to test a system you would like to implement in Salem, and so use H&H as a testing ground?
Also, I can also imagine Salem will be rethought on a lot of points in game play and game design, and from this there might come idea's that also will work great on the improvement on H&H. If this is so, would you implement the changes on H&H or just ignore the fact of improvement so that H&H and Salem will stay as far apart as possible?

Ok last one, The graphic setting probably isn't final and neither is the design of it. But the style is probably set already (assumption, don't kill me for it). And well we can all the the game setting and H&H style back in the game. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, my point was more. Can you explain the choice of the design and graphics made for Salem at the moment?

If there is a z-dimension in this game, it could be really awesome, especially for terraforming.

Crop quality keeps dropping despite high farm level.
Major concern for many farming-oriented players.

Short video footage from alpha!

Perspective is top-down like H&H. Characters look better ingame than in screenshots. Trees now obstruct your view even worse ;P

I hope this hasn't been posted yet.

This.
It would make the game more... LIKE MINECRAFT!

But seriously, freestyle terraforming/building would be great.
I hope J&L chose 3D for a reason.

Dear Jorb and Loftar

This game is harsh, it is complicated, it has permadeath, and it isn't anything like what people play these days.
The public paying this game, or at least playing it longer then 1 life, is mostly an adult public. This is, I believe, your market focus. This is also the part of the market which can quickly pay money. Whereas children...cannot, unless they ask an adult.
I believe you will be introducing one form or another to receive money from Salem?

If so, I believe the 'cutesie' graphics, with the big head/eyes, which looks very childish and asian-style, to my eye, does not fit at all into the scheme of things. Isn't Salem supposed to be darker and Harsher then H&H? I much prefer the way H&H characters are depicted ingame as well as in the equipment screen, in fact, I'd rather have bland, figurless characters, with normal head-body proportions and without any anomalies, than the characters shown in the screenshot.

With the small amount of information given to us, and the assumptions I can make based on the way H&H has been produced, this is the only thing that disturbs me so far. The concept is very intriguing, I really like the idea of civilization vs unexplored dark terrain. Also witchcraft, which I am assuming will be a skill that makes players incredibly powerful, but which they must keep quiet because they will be summonable without scents (my theory, although summoning will probably be burning), or they would be kill-able, without leaving scents.

Anyway thats it, just fix the characters please :(

I'm 11 and play Haven and Hearth even after like 5 deaths(in 2 months) If it does become pay2play please don't make it 19.99$ a month :(
