Also what is the point in trade if I have to have high amounts of the skill required to make it to even see if it's good?

Well I know they won't really listen to anyone asking them to take it out, so I don't bother doing that sort of thing any more. When Jorb and Loftar are set on something, it doesn't seem to matter if all it does is make things more grindy, it's there to stay in one form or another. It especially doesn't help that most of the players here just say yes to everything, since that's who J/L seem to listen to the most.

I'm all about this update, and I think it can be fairly well known that I am by no means a 'yes man.' =D

I'm not denying some people will like the update, I'm speaking in general. Some people are either huge fans or overly optimistic, and they are just the ones who get the most responses.

Damn those J&L, listening to 'most of the players'. Don't they understand that Voideka knows whats best?

"Some people" are tin foil hat wearing negative nancy cotton socks who should stop making vague generalizations and spreading FUD

and by "Some people" I mean you. Specifically you Voideka, not the universal 'you' of you people.

YOU GO HUSH NOW!

This is what I was waiting for. You and some other guys always come out of the woodwork whenever someone complains about something and tell them to shut up or leave. I was hoping you'd show up so I'd have an example in this thread, so I didn't have to go searching for it. Thanks.

Almost missed this.

See, this is the problem I have. J/L listen to you guys the most, and most of what you say involves praising things or trying to shut everyone up who disagrees with you. I really wish they would tell you lot to stop being dicks.

Voideka, I don't go around trying to shut up people who disagree with me. Go back and read my posts if you like. Sometimes I get sarcastic when people post stupid requests, like the Dawgster, but thats about it. What gets my goat is this:

Voideka wrote:Well I know they won't really listen to anyone asking them to take it out, so I don't bother doing that sort of thing any more... most of the players here just say yes to everything, since that's who J/L seem to listen to the most.

That's basically translatable as: 'I don't bother saying anything anymore, because it what I say doesn't matter, the 'they', the in crowd J&L cheer squad, decide the agenda.' That's BS man. Give a reason for your opinion, and if people disagree with you, suck it up.

I knew a person once whose response to having her own opinions disagreed with was 'you guys don't listen to me', or 'whats the point in talking anyway if you don't listen'. The thing is we did listen, and then gave reasons why we disagreed. Her real problem was that she didn't get her way, hence the conversation was in some way 'biased' or 'not fair'. That's not how it works. You said yourself that 'most people' say yes, maybe that's because they actually like the way the game is going? If you disagree, then give reasons why, and engage in debate. You can't just say 'you're all disagreeing with me because your just a bunch of yes men'. That's exactly the kind of BS discrediting of another persons position that you say is being perpetrated against you.

Lol, you don't even know who you're talking to do you... Do you even read the names next to the posts? "you and some other guys"?
Happy that you didn't have to go searching for it?

The way I see it there's two likely scenarios here:
1 - You're a troll responding to posts via reflex carefully maintaining the argument without adding any actual content to it
or
2 - You're incredibly lazy and want some things in game changed, but don't want to say what or why, or work out who's opposing your changes or why they're opposing them, let alone construct a few sentences that strengthen your case.

Usually I make a conscious effort to maintain a positive constructive approach, explaining to players how it is indeed possible for them to continue to enjoy their lives after the latest update, despite the incredible pain J&L have caused them by taking away their unlimited instant teleportation rings, or refusing to grant each player his own infinite metal supply.

I'm not going to rise to your bait there in the rest of the post, but suffice it to say I do give reasons (including in this very thread!).

As for the majority of the people agreeing with everything, well, I used to be part of a different majority. The problem is most of them left the game, so now there's only a couple of us left who still try to give our input, making guys who use sarcasm to belittle others when they give contrary opinions (and then deny doing it 5 minutes later) the new majority.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. I was talking about you, in addition to other people. I was happy you guys chimed in to give examples of the kind of behavior I was talking about (shouting down anyone who is being "negative"), because I knew someone would say "it's not true at all, no one does that especially not me, so prove it" and I wasn't planning on paging through post histories. Of course, I also didn't expect anyone act out and then swear they never do so on the same page, but stranger things have happened I suppose.

Dude, I'm not 'baiting' you, I'm not a troll, and I don't even care anymore.

Well that's great. And I'm sure I didn't respond to those reasons by 'shouting you down' or some such. I'm not saying there aren't people who are like that, but you are going to piss people off when you start throwing accusations around. If said pissed off people get in your face, and you say 'see?' it proves nothing.
