Will the Hardcap affect mining things as well? You can only get as good of ore as your survival?

Highest survival or q10, the default. It won't affect your mining on L1, really.

Log in, collect a few curios, study, work in groups of friends, especially if a few are NEETs, be smart about it. There's no reason that you can't do both, considering the fact that you don't actually have to grind LP by being online. Best advice, first swamp/grasslands/forest you can find, stop there, grind wishbones and swamp curios until you finish finals.

You can AFK inside a house, though I wouldn't be surprised if someone gets rage fast enough to come get you. Chances are you'll be fine however. Everyone starts on equal ground, only the poopsockiest of dickbag griefers will be able to kill you within the first few days.

Last time i had murder within like 24 hours of the world going live, and there were definitely people who got it faster, i wouldn't rely on afking in a house

Also, I hope there are some content updates for W7, loftar. If you're resetting the map purely for those fixes mentioned in the OP, it would be a shame to reset the map without first testing the longterm consequences of those changes in the environment of w6. If there is anything wrong with them (exploits, etc), W6 is the ideal testing ground. You won't see these conditions again for at least a year and a half.

That's pretty impressive. I normally focus on other skills before that. Might be a bit harder with the caps and having to focus on other skills early in game this world, but I doubt it'll make too much of a hindrance.
