A Plea for Moderation

Kaios, Borka made a mistake, we all do that, apart from deleting that thread he is pretty much like Teck in that he tries to clean up the forum and is conscientious, helpful and fair.

He was a little overzealous for some at the start but he has toned that down, I think it's a bit unfair to say he is the worst moderator, imo both him and Teck do a good job here.

Not saying the others don't - they all just handle things in different ways. Sabi is unique, lol, and you hardly ever see the others.

I re-read my post and in case I was unclear when I stated "Most mods are inactive/useless" I was not referring to those I listed afterwards in regards to that statement. Just the actual inactive ones.

Anyways, I don't view borka's moderation to be like Teck's at all. I find both their style of posting and the manner in which they address others to be wildly different and this affects how they moderate as well. Borka tends to come off a little abrasive to the point of even being rude in my opinion whereas Teck is always posting in a more bright, positive manner. Also, one does not have to be a moderator to also be conscientious, helpful and fair. There are people who aren't mods who fit this description too.

I only outlined the thread deleting because that was the mistake I recalled at the time of typing this. There have been numerous other complaints/issues with borka's moderation but I can't reference the majority of them because the THREAD WAS DELETED!

Not only does Borka censor things that he does not like, he does not attempt to explain himself after doing things which the majority would see as bat-shit retarded.
The best response Borka has given so far when people complain about his actions was "I really feel for you". Sarcasm. I would cite that quote with a link, but it was in the old mod thread which he deleted lololol

But, the majotiry of those complaints were by people who borka had banned or moved to hell or were with regard to 'censorship' - which, as I said, he has since toned down.

Yes, I see what you are saying and their posting styles can be different, but on the whole I still think they try to achieve the same thing. Ofc you don't have to be a moderator to be any of those things, I'm just saying that, imo, it is important to try to be all those things when moderating, but that is just my opinion. I think Borka became more abrasive after he was constantly targeted for trying to make the forums less about name calling ....... sorry, ppl have turned up in rl and I have to go ......
