So much hate instead of constructive critics, and you call someone being douchebag ... really ?
Played both and love both. I admit Salem getting good updates but im looking forward for Haven 2 as well :P Why not to accumulate/discuss good ideas no matter where it come from instead of hating ? Especially when two games have like 80% in common - means same possible mistakes to be made. Yet any of two can fruit with great ideas.

The thing is, the majority of Havens player base did come over and try Salem, a few are still there so not everyone hated it but, on the whole, it didn't go down well. Whilst there are ofc similarities being as Salem sprung from Haven, it's hardly like 80%, if it was, we would have all left, lol, Haven is unique. :D

This thread is to discuss the future of Haven, not the on-going failure/success of Salem, so it's not surprising your comments are not met with enthusiasm, the reason Salem even came up in the first place was due to the fear that some of it's mechanics may end up back here!

You could try making a separate thread about Salem I guess, but I personally don't see the point, there is still a forum over there if anyone wants to look. :)

Replying for the last time since it seems that many people don't feel like this is the right place to discuss anything related to Salem.

A lot has changed since I last played, so talking indepth about this is a bit of a waste of time. Good for you though if they actually made crime less rewarding and more dangerous. But I'm still sceptical of the idea that a guy who primarily derived his fun from harassing others and playing god on the forums now changed the development of the game into the opposite direction. After all he also added a murder high score board and the ability to scalp players when I still checked the forum.

txtrung0 wrote:I dont like p2w also but pay for convenient is a much better term.

No, thanks, renaming something to make it sound more pleasant is a game best left to politicians. Again, I can't really make a statement on the rest of what you said because I haven't been around for so long. I just know that faster drying racks from the cash shop and the like are things I would rather not have in a game. If everyone can acquire these things with silver it's less of an issue but also depends on how many of these cash shop items are needed to be on par with others and how difficult it is to acquire them. Where to draw the line of what is acceptable exactly is a difficult question. It is also a somewhat subjective issue.

Despite of all the negativity that I may have expressed in my posts I must still admit that chief and his team deserve some credit for making rather solid updates (and in a surprisingly quick manner). Also sorry, if I sounded rude to you.

I don't think chief's posts compare well with what was said here. I also don't understand what exactly we should talk about constructively.

Is all of the above a valid option? In any case, I'd welcome you to the Haven & Hearth forums though it's obvious you've been lurking for some time now. As you can see, things are not much different here in comparison to the Salem forums.

I don't blame him, the discussion was kind of veering in that direction

MrGreen wrote:HnH 2 will be dead if game will have same thief mechanic. This is real problem. This is why I and my friends left HnH. :( -1 hp for opening doors REALY?

The only reason that mechanic was put in place was due to the fact that some player(s) was/were abusing a bug which allowed someone to spam a bunch of scents in one spot causing lag and I think eventually a crash. I would imagine they've done something to address such an issue.

Please stay in Salem. While I don't mind cash shops per se, I'd rather make a one-time payment for haven than having serious pay2win rat-races and cheating here.

While the Salem discussion is probably irrelevant, a discussion regarding payment methods is reasonable at least, and if they were to go the cash shop route perhaps some methods could be suggested to make it the least pay to win as possible but I have a feeling most of that is fairly common sense. (such as don't sell the main in-game currency)

WaitingforHaven2 wrote:I also don't understand what exactly we should talk about constructively.

Here's what I assume he's getting at, while the game itself is irrelevant to most of us, I still feel its mechanics are not. The only thing I'm not entirely certain of is whether Jorb and Loftar would be willing to copy any mechanics or features that Chief has added to the game himself despite the fact they may like certain implementations very much and that's probably also a conversation for them and Chief anyways.

But also I'm sure they've already thought about adding or have already added mechanics from Salem that they enjoyed or thought worked well so I do think that would be a rather fruitless discussion as well.

Hardsun wrote:So much hate instead of constructive critics, and you call someone being douchebag ... really ?

I was going to point that out too but really there just aren't that many here who would say they enjoy Salem over Haven. They have their similarities obviously having been birthed from the same people but I am of the opinion that they were two rather vastly different styles of the "survival" genre.

Well im discussing future of H&H in conjuction with similar games. Thats like discussing one mmorpg comparing to other mmorpgs - why not ?.. just because they do have common things. And what frustrates me is people acting like religous fanatics.
And mostly what we have here is JLo putting in some meaning info - the a couple of constructive posts on point and then hate or different fantasies "wish it would be done like that" again :D nvm...
ps: there is no better god ( no god at all for me), only different people truth - take it or leave it :P

Why not to talk about this then - probably would yeld better ideas for ingame mechanics for Haven 2 ? I mean Salem did something in wrong way - we could discuss whats wrong and how to fix. Instead of mindless "arrrghhh, how could they".

Taking stuff or opening doors if it is under claim removing 1 HP from char. This is suck... It is not proftble to be thieves in HnH now.

This is like from World 7.... We make base and then BOOM! Game is to hard for thieves. It is easier to make your own stuff! Becose leach healing is pain in ass.

P.S.: Salem and HnH 2 will be like FOnline: Reloaded and Fonline 2. Same engines, but totally different gameplay :D

For thieves this game requires 5 minutes a day to start computer and press run button on bot. Maybe sometimes kill some noobs.

Did I seem an easier option than Painhertz? Lol.

I was simply answering your original post with regard to why all the hate ...... ofc, feel free to continue your discussion ...... though until we know which, if any, mechanics from Salem have been brought to Haven I don't see the point of discussing Salem per se. We had Salem threads when it was applicable, where Salem mechanics were discussed, hence my suggestion, if you want to talk about how Salem is progressing.

There is no god for me either, lol, so no acting like a religious fanatic here, Haven is unique, that is my truth, take it or leave it. :P
