I rly doubt that devs check what caused crash every time. Because if they would, then everything would be fixed, and then we should see less and less crashes. I have thoughts that crashes are done by some players intentionally. As I know there exists some stuff that may crash server or make it very very unstable...

Why would developers of any kind NOT check what crashed the server?, they might not produce an instant fix but I highly doubt they aren't just restarting it, and when you ix one thing you can break another, so your argument towards no crashes (do to other random issues that can also cause crashes) is invalid, as for player intentionally crashing server, I doubt it but if it does happened lets hope they are kind enough to pm the devs.

Well looks like I picked a very bad time to join Haven and Hearth. With luck and the blessing of the almighty electron and micro chip I hope to join you all in the exploration and enjoyment of Haven and Heath soon.

So the reason for the crash would still be in the logs if they want to look into it. But the server would restart itself and we could keep playing without waiting for hours till one of the devs checks the server and manually restarts it. Past few days there was at least 1 crash lasting several hours every day.

Exactly my point. No need for devs to check up every time. If they make logging and debugging good inside code there is no need to manually check what caused crash every time.

They can check logs. As I know java and other languages like C and C++ support logging and to put output into other stream (file, standard output - console,...). So just catch every exception and and write what you get and trace into log file. Hard? Not rly.

Also if we get constant crashes over and over every day same or very similar shit they should do something about it. Most crashes are around out of bound exceptions or something like that can be fixed pretty fast. I rly rly doubt that this game is in so bad state that there are always new bugs around that causes crashes. If it is, then it is not written good and should be reprogrammed.

And I know they don't have time to fix or do anything big, just because they work on salem, and even here I again doubt salem will replace HnH. I just have that feeling...

There could be data corruption associated with crash, and it would propagate if the server auto-restarted, possibly damaging the world beyond repair.

From what I noticed, time is "frozen" while server crashes, so when it's up again, game will be at the same point of time as before crash so your silkworms won't die because of hunger
