what? invulnerable alts aren't in Haven and hearth and we don't have a safe newbie zone either, what's the problem?

Therein lies the problem: you made assumptions based off HnH. The core concepts are going to remain consistent, but the surface mechanics are likely to be changed. Salem isn't HnH 2, but a completely different game. Of course, the rest of the game industry doesn't necessarily help with this as many studios use identical engines and just change the graphics around and call it a new game. (What was the real difference, mechanically, between Fallout 3 and Oblivion? Mass Effect and Dragon Age?)
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I think you should try understanding haven better.

Well I think I have said that salem looked stoopid in the passed, I now have a completly different opinion on it. The games looks very interesting and fun, I can not wait to play it.

Here's a recent screenshot. The ground textures and the water still aren't great but we're working on that, and we'll hopefully be adding a primitive form of ambient occlusion to make subtle height differences stand out more.

It's a great improvement over earlier graphics, though I still want to see what kind of direction you're going to take the character art.

As people mentioned before the characters are meant to be kept in that caricatural style so I don't think they will change that much anymore.

The screenshot is great btw. :)

The water of the tanning tub is looks real, in my opinion the water that you have having abrove that (I think baterstands? ) arent "real" water, Im that time the water was a bit darker wasn't it ? Now you can see how deep it is. Great to see that screenshot!
