Hm, can we play as natives? Because that sounds a lot more fun than being a colonist.

You might want to check out this movie about the village that was called Salem:

Haven't watched it myself yet, but I'll go see it soon ^^

I've seen it meanwhile - good movie, recommended!
Also, I cried like a total sissy.

Does anyone know why the game is called "Salem" and how that relates to gameplay (besides witchcraft)? Any quotes from J&L?
Or is it just a nasty joke on the community? ;P

You know, just sayin'. I think the graphics are quite great in Jorb's own unique way. :)

Of course, it's more than well possible that we've just become used to the graphics; I know that I, in particular, have become desensitized to the male character's facial expression -- I almost think it looks neutral these days. Even so, even when Jorb just made it, I remember just finding it over-the-top hilarious, rather than ugly.

I'll just post a few more screenshots to give you some other angles of the game. Surely, it's impossible to think these are ugly? :)

Jorb and I have discussed it, and would like to add that ability, but it's not the top priority. We'll just have to see how far we get before it's time to release it.

I really hope those tree bushes and leafs will be "optional" (with ability to turn them off). Otherwise any forest travel will be a serious pain in the arse. And that amount of red color defiently not making my eyes happy, live autumn colors are that "glowing". Oh, and last, but most important. I seriously dislike "anime-like" characters. Jorb was inspired with Ragnarok Online (and any other clone)? Huge heads, huge eyes. Seems like Keran point of view on "america's conquest". With current screenshots, H&H arts seems much more beautiful to me.

I noticed that too! Not so much the characters, but the ground for some reason made me think of it.
