I don't know when any of this will actually make it in, but I thought I'd share. :)

Wow, your portraits have really improved. That squirrel will kill us all!
Is that a cradle?

My personal, brief experience: Before the latest adjustment I was able to raise my village's authority by several thousand, but I don't have a feel for how quickly it will fall.

Russaria wrote:Well you and the other goon can screech at her all ya want but you cannot convince me you don't know how to calculate. When someone get's online and sees their authority already at 39k like a trading neighbor of ours and then grinds for hours in effort to get it back up some, only to realize that 15k a day means they have what, 3 days left, maybe more if they can somehow break even. What "data" do you need to verify her conclusions? You will consider it "Obvious" and a "mistake" AFTER everyone loses their villages?

did someone get online before or after loftar changed the numbers on authority? is all this reactionary bullshit based on the original formulas? did you read and comprehend what loftar just posted? let me give you some "data", i have 28 int and 23 cha, so that means i add sqrt(28*23)/10 or 2.5 authority for each base LP that i gain. so if i were to be in a solo village i would need 6000 base LP per day. i think it's "obvious" that 6000 LP per day is pretty reasonable, and that you're "mistake"n in thinking that everyone is going to lose their village.

It does not take a rocket scientist to calculate 15k and a quick overview of their situatioin to thrash it out. As for you Int/Chr stuff, blueberry spawn is as pathetic as everything else except taproot and mushrooms. As for her stats, I don't know the numbers but she of course has more than 10 Chr she formed a damn village and even with her chr/int she could see how long and how much of a grind it would be just to get some of the 15K ALP (since you have to triple+ that in character lp we'll give it a new name of it's own) to try break even tonight with 1 citizen in Germany on vacation, the other halfway across the country on a truck haul and the other working a spring break double shift sloshing drinks to sunburnt fools (also what me and Rhiannon have to be doing for the next month) here on Panama City Beach.

if you can't find blueberries you need to get out more. seriously there are plenty of blueberries and plenty of fish and plenty of foxes and plenty of all the other things i've said. these things are not hard to get. if your villagers aren't able to log on, i'm sorry. you'll have to get some LP. it really is not that hard. do the math based on your int and cha and see how much LP you actually need to get to maintain your village.

To your claim that it isn't about running off all the casuals nor favoritism then tell me how worried YOU are, tell me how worried Sodom is, or the other couple of towns where the goon squad and "Private forum friends " all nest together. I doubt there is much worry going on about losing your villages. Did the "private forum group" know this was coming? (Just curious regarding what I read elsewhere on that issue)

i'm not at all worried about my 5 villages. the "private forum group" found out about this update the same time everyone else did, when this thread was posted.

To the numbers, of course people are curious, the more come the more talk, the more it spreads, visits are no measure of success it is only a measure of current awareness and or advertising. Of the 50 mmos I've tried I doubt any of them could count my couple weeks visit a "successful convert". Revolving door noobs can always keep the numbers high on paper...just ask Atlantica who got caught trying to advertise those numbers to commercial clients as "Active members" for their advertising dollar and nearly got sued out of a game when some inside employee went Narc on them.

...

Overall, it is clear as crystal, this radical update is a repulsive perversion of a justified and simple mechanic idea regarding allowing abandoned villages to decay (what Avu said). Instead of addressing that in a decent simple fashion it seems indeed like some radical favoritism to a small group and total grief to the majority casual players who have learned and been taught to stay small and secure and trust no one due to the atmosphere. (What did Loftar say? to make it "harder" for solo or small villages = pretty much impossible = no causal players allowed unless ya want to be a SodomBread baking slave of his Sodom friends) It felt pretty cool to see everyone ban together against that UO fanatic troll, loyalty and exaltation for the game and even the Devs expressed, and the thanks they get is to lose everything they worked for. When something like this is done, it can really kill morale and make people feel pretty betrayed. I know that is how she felt, and everyone we know in-game. Granted those people aren't from the Sodom private forum proud crowd this update won't bother too much, but they are long term loyal players who mostly said "well fuck them too" as they logged off tonight. You may have fun with your sexist bullshite and raging her as a hysterical woman because she calls a ball scratching neanderthal an APE without apology but she's not alone in her feelings. She's just more loud and honest about saying it! And I admire her for it...when the aliens come to town MY ass is getting behind Sigourney Weaver because I don't give a rat's ass whether she's got tits or not, only whether she can kill the damn things so I can get my ass back home to a beer! Screw the sexist crap, give 'em all guns!!!

are you majoring in theatre at your local community college or something? get real. calm down. stop bitching. make actual critiques and suggestions instead of raging the fuck out at everything.

Thanks, seeing the equation written out let me wrap my head around it. I had a general idea of what was supposed to be going on but I think the fact it was sort of a word problem threw me off.

It looks like a basket to me. Perhaps it's like a seedbag for food or something? (In that case, a pic-a-nic basket).

I guess it could be a baby basket but that's not a thought I want to entertain any longer than I have to.
