They just added an update. They said they are debating holding this group of Alpha testers until after a new update they are downloading into Salem or going ahead and starting them now. They also said they will still be contacting the applicants this week. So I'm assuming no one has heard either way yet. I know I haven't heard back yet. <still hoping>

Don't worry about that. Invites and applications will be handled through the Paradox forum for the most part. There may be more that come directly from Jorb & Loftar along the way, but that is only speculation on my part. I'm going to guess that as the game draws closer to completion Paradox will be sending out beta keys through some of the MMO websites such as mmorpg.com and massively.com. (They did with Dreamlords.) There might be some through Facebook, but so far few (if any) game publishers have done this that I've seen.

lol I forgot about that absolutely ridiculous trailer. Please for the love of God I hope the final game doesn't have voice acting.

EDIT: Ahahahah ahaha what a completely unenthusiastic "yep" from jorb when talking about the "summer" release. Poor guy. This thing won't see 2012.

Editing for that interview was a bit odd; it would show the two of them chatting about unrelated things while Jorb's voiceover continued answering his question, so it almost looked like a lip sync issue
