Though their presence might seem significant in the screenshots, the ability to change the camera appears to make it a non-problem in practice.

I tried my hand at making a short video. Though the results are mediocre (encoding quality and framerate suck quite a bit, for example), here it is, such as it may be: http://www.seatribe.se/salem/test.ogv

- that's exactly what i'v meant. First you'v gone through "clearing" with wide road and trees removed around. But when you came close to trees you had to zoom in drastically. Just imagine a boar behind that tree. 1 second and goodbye pretty colonist girl ;) Travelling for long distance with camera so close to surface is't "exploring" nor safe way to travel at all, as i see it. Another point is in actually serching for something (forages, animals). You'll have to move camera A LOT if there is no far-view (first person view? third person camera looking to horizont instead of looking at character?)

Though, my concern can be false and fail, can't say without practice. Just pointed out possible flaw in future >.>

P.S. More like "Requesting for TURN OFF BUSHES function", hehe.

Loftar, Jorb, I could provide critiques about the environment (visually), but would it be worth it to you at your present stage of development?

If you are speaking of the single-pixel kind that are visible in the screenshot on the first page, don't worry too much. They're caused by a bug that only shows when antialiasing is turned on. Though I don't know what's causing it at the moment, it's just a bug. You don't see them in e.g. 06.png posted on the previous page (where antialiasing is turned off).

Well, that would depend on what kind of critique you speak of. There are obviously some flaws that we're well aware of and improvements already planned. Others maybe less so. :)

I welcome, of course, any critique of things that I'm not already aware of.

The game is looking awesome, keep up with the good work.

Be sure to tell the H&H community first when the beta test is going to start. :)

yeah, it's gone there, so that's good. the textures seem to have a bit of a border on them though, it's mostly noticeable in the grass. i'm sure you will work all this out.

Not necessarily "autumn", but the setting is supposed to be perpetual Indian summer. We'll add more green stuff to match.
