Would it be free to play game? If so, maybe it's good idea to open source code? In this case anyone can contribute.
Good example https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA Almost 200 contributors.
It would be great to have official opensource client ( and hopefully backend).

The client is already officially open-source. But they will never make the server open-source.

It's called an alt. You describe these characters to your alt. If you die, the process is reversable. Damn, there's that alt thing again...

That reminds me of this one time i sliced my arm open on some glass, but I had no first aid shit, so I had to use one of my girlfriend's maxi-pads and some duct tape to dress the wound. Worked like a charm.

Not sure if you're saying the alt thing is broken (my opinion) or not retaining your kin list (also broken in my opinion).

Really should be a list of those that are your "friends" you've gotten to know and could be associated to the account via some "ritual" (something to do with all that numen?) and those you have merely memorized and should rightfully be wiped when a character dies.

I am saying that, imo, any form of dependability or any mechanic or function that promotes the necessity of alt existence in its entirety, is flawed, with the exception perhaps of build diversity (e.g. fighter, crafter, etc.) Anything that requires you to, or makes it better for you to have an alt, is broken and requires fixing.

So, in this example, it is currently possible to 'transfer' your alt's kin list to your new or Einher'ed character. But saying, "Hey, maintain a duplicate kin list on an alt so that you can 'transfer' it to your new or Einher'ed toon" is not a solution, it's a Band-Aid. A solution is making it so that you are not dependant on an alt to maintain a kin list but rather that your kin list is never lost, e.g. fix it so that your kin list is tied to your account rather than a character.

That said, it of course makes it clear (as I have already done) that I don't believe you should lose any kins when a character dies.

I am curious as to your "rightfully" statement, as I can't think of a single reasonable reason, never mind a rightful one, for you to lose your kin list on death.
