If they made an improved "3D" Mincraft, I surly would love to have the possibility of playng the original one, just not the same feeling, not better or worst.

Why don;t you fucking wait and see what HAVEN 2.0...NOT HAFEN is going to be like before you start whining like a bitch?

I am sure haven 2.0 will be awesome, but I do see the reason for these kind of worries, I enjoy the simple nature of classical haven & Hearth grafics, somehow this feels much like when 3D grafics started being used on pc games and all of a sudden all pc games simply HAD to be 3D, I miss the good old days of simple 2D grafics and that brings quite a nostalgia feeling to this game.

I understand the decision though, it is a lot easier to animate a 3D model than to create a massive amount of sprites for every animation of every action in the game.

Well, I'll admit that thinking about it now, at least, I see a number of issues. For one thing, I see that it incentivizes villages to claim their land with both a vclaim and a pclaim just to get the notifications, which is certainly ugly. I can also see that there may be something, at least, to be said for stealth, though I'm less sure exactly what. I guess I'll have to think about it a little bit.

Notification of criminal acts? No that's a bit to over powered. Even if the notification was as simple as "criminal acts have been committed." would be to much. It stops people from actively protecting their lands and knowing whats going on in their area.

Funny... I thought the common wisdom was that it is still cheaper to work in 2D than to do 3D. 3D is much easier than it was 10-20 years ago, but it's still not as easy.

Well, clearly none of you know what's good for you, so it's a good thing we're in charge. ¦]

I know what's good for me, but despite that, I still hang around here and am looking forward to playing the latest version.

@world numbering: I think it'd probably be better to just call it W8 as, according to jorb, w7 will stay up for a while, but will get killed as soon as w8 is developed enough (or 7 dies enough) to warrant shutting it down, and that will be the end of that version of HnH.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Pain, it was me who was 'whining like a bitch', as you put it - simimi is saying both games would be good. :P
Also, there is nothing wrong with expressing opinions or concerns, they are after all replacing our favourite toy with another one, hopefully it will be an improved version but there are no guarantees, not everyone shares the blind faith you seem to have. Just look at the reaction when it was announced ppl won't be able to start up together, lol.

Well, it's a bit of a mixed bag, but 3D is certainly cheaper when you want to combine clothes and animations, or rotate objects freely, for instance. :)

It isn't really blind faith although there's certainly nothing wrong with that. I am in agreement with Painhertz. Didn't your mother ever try to get you to eat something that you had never tried before and she would say something along the lines of, "Don't knock it till you've tried it!" The same principle applies here and don't forget you're talking about the same developers who created this game which you so thoroughly enjoy. I think it's perfectly reasonable for everyone to apply a little "blind faith" if they want, I have no doubt they learned many lessons of what to do and what not to do through Salem as well.

Jorb is right, it's a god damn wonderful thing they're in charge. I didn't know I wanted a game like Haven until I played it, and I surely don't know what I want Haven 2 to be like until they've made it.
