Dunno if this is the right place for suggestions, but some curiosity made of boneglue would be neat. It will get more attention to not leaving skeletons behind.

Repeating the same task millions of times per day, sounds awesome.

This is where you can find a ladybug. ;)

Serpensio wrote:I gave the new system a try, I played for several hours, however, after the initial LP gain from picking anything and everything I saw near me and building/crafting every little thing I could, I was still lacking very much in LP to get skills I needed, or up stats I wanted. Eventually I ended up wandering aimlessly, and going akf numerous times. There's nothing I can gather that I need, except food, the only 2 rabbit skins I butchered were stolen while I was away from my camp and I haven't found another rabbit yet. I can't build a boat to go exploring the waterways, I have no intention of living in the spot I spawned on so I'm not going to build a house yet or start stockpiling resources (which will only force me to need to carry them to the place I determine I want to live). What is there for me to do then?

Well I can offer you this:
Come to me, I got plenty of rabbit furs, I'll give you 10 for a start. :) As for a boat, I'll built you one and you can sail to wherever it is you want to build your settlement. You can also have some curiosities, since we got a lot of them, we gather them whenever we see them so we don't need to go looking for them when one is burned.

Serpensio wrote:I'm not whining about the system, I'm stating my experience, and reasons for disliking the system. I know little comes from bitching. That is why I'm actually doing something about it: Protesting via deforestation. This accomplishes 3 things, 1, gives me something to do while I wait for my curiosities to burn down, 2, gives me a direction and makes wandering aimlessly more interesting, 3, might even have an impact on development if enough join in on the protest.

As for your protest, I think you could have just ask your neighbors or somebody in the forum here if he/she might help you out with something, like for instance building a boat for you. When you see someone with a boat on a river, holler out and ask her/him if s/he is willing to make a boat building sign for you, you might be surprised how many nice people are running around in the world. ;)
Your protest gives you nothing except the feeling that you are protesting, but it is in no way valuable for the game, it gets you nowhere.
So my offer is standing. :D

Is it? I thought I heard they appeared in grasslands, no matter, either way I've not found any. Stuck relying on Cow Cones and Toy Chariots for the moment.

While I certainly appreciate the offer, there is a little problem of finding you since very little of the map is mapped yet.

I'm sure there are plenty of nice people out there playing the game that I could ask for some help from, though I've not found any neighbors yet (plenty of people wandering, but I haven't come across any settlements yet).
The problem though is, I take issue with the system itself, I know I could work around it as you and others have suggested, however, I don't believe I should have to "work around" it to begin with. It's unintuitive, annoying, too slow, boring, not immersive, and above all, I hate waiting for static timers. I'm sure it works great for already established players who want to work on political goals, improving their existing village, or metagaming; but the newbie experience is Terrible. I want to WORK to improve my character, without having to worry about how much LP I'm getting, in world 4, I could do that, but now, I have to actively engage in making/finding curiosities, storing curiosities, and regularly check my study tab to make sure I put a new curiosity in ASAP after the previous one runs out.

So, I'm sorry, but, I'll not stop, except if I get enough skills/stats that I can start building a place to live. And then I'll still keep going when I'm bored.

WildRose wrote:Look problem is not in building. Problem is in scarce resources. Not enough fishes and too big amount of LP needed invested in exploration and basic skills to basicaly start playing.
I have 8 exploration and I have caught 3 fishes and found only one blueberry. Walking around without any goal and searching for stuff that is rare almost as gold ore.
What else have left me to do? I was stealing from neigbours to get some leather, I'm burning curios and getting 3-5k LP per day. Yay.
In previous world if there was nothing to do -> go grind, mine, farm, whatever give u LP.
Now if u don't have enough int -> fuck urself and wait on low lvl and q curios to get LP.

I found plenty of food in my area from fish, to ants and forageables. The thing you have to remember when looking for food is never to go through places where other people have passed through as they will pick the area clean.

Main reason why people seem to be griefin more than usual with boats as fish are much rarer now and less people = more fish.

But why dou you focus on getting foragables and LPs. First thing you need to care about is resources. While looking for it you will defintely ome across Dands at least. With cow cones you are good to go till you find place to settle. While foraging, cutting trees, removing stumps and building my house I have always come upon something to study. I just ont understand your guys boredom comlaints? If you play just fo those numbers, go play with excel. If you play the game for the fun and the game itself, I dont see any problem in gaining enough Lps to go on. I am casual player, hermitstyle with just one friend who plays even less and we have built a house, started pali and have claim. I have 60k LPs and full cupboard of curiosities. And I was never during the three last days actively looking for them, except anthill raiding, ut again only when I see it, not searching for it.

Just Play, thats all.

I guess you were lucky then. I've been actively raiding ant hills and looking for curis for about 2 hours per day (thats how much time I have) just so I can finally fill my study box and after I'm left with no time to do what I really want (not that I can farm yet, WWW's are at exploration 10, I'm at 7, so it's just farm curis and logoff for now)

I have to say I really hate this update...
As if World 4 wasn't even bad enough, this brings waisting time for LP to the next level.
Don't get me wrong I do like the idea to spend time for something but this is just plain usseles I have to waiste hours of looking for Curiosities that give horrible LP every phew hours.
And in between those hours I end up logging out or getting bored because there is really NOTHING to do anymore. This Object requires that skill but that skill requires these items that require these skills to forage. And for all these skills I need LP,LP i can't grind/get.

Thereby comes the fact that the skills are horribly overpriced now and that world 5 still has so many bugs that where still pressent in world 3 simple example ; ANts deagro when touching water.

World 3 was extreemly cool, world 4 was boring but bearable.
World 5 is bullshit.
