It ruins every game an example from my younger day is Club penguin
I played it when i was 10 and when they brought out membership i quit cause you couldnt do half the shit you could do before it my cousin pays for it now and you cant go into half the world now without paying -_-

so err what actually goes on during the server downtime.. if there is a roll back or whatever is there a chance i could lose my gear...because when the server went down i was wearing a ranger cape..now when i view my account it shows that i am not... i am worried because it was a borrowed cloak... :?

Cloaks tend to not be displayed on account pics. Bear capes definitely not displayed.

I doubt anybody has the answer to this, but I figured I'd ask anyway. Why has the server been going down so much recently? I know that when w5 was started it was pretty much down more than up, because it was a whole new system. But I thought they stabilized it... Why is it down so much again?

Loftar is probably tinkering with code on the weekends. All you people with a "life" are too busy in the middle of the week to notice that it stays up the majority of the time then. When the weekend comes around, the server is staying down because, well, Loftar has a "life" and can only work on HnH during that time, too.

That's my guess, anyway. :D

the weird part now is when the servers went down before world 5 they happened randomly now they seem to happen at around the same time in the morning for me -5 GMT I have no knowledge of servers but I can see only too reasons for this maybe happening, one the server is overloaded with data; think about how much change a person can do to the game in one real day and than multiply that by a few hundred and that's a lot of data changes, or the server shuts down at a certain time to permanently save the data from ram data (which is the data you accumulate when your on your computer but don't save something) to permanent data; these are entirely guesses so I don't know if this is even possible or not
There aint no rest for the wicked, till we close our eyes for good!

As we heard there is a bug in map saver or map files (a place in database where maps are stored). Server saves map frequently at same time each day (update in database or files). When this happens there is an error which crashes server. It's not fixed yet and I don't think there will be a fix any soon as it seems it's pretty heavy bug and devs are working on Salem instead on HnH. After thought why would they focus here if they get paid for Salem? :)

Right. Loftar started tinkering with the way maps were being handled and got a few bugs along with the new procedures. I'm sure he'll get the bugs worked out ASAP.

Well, I hope so. I sorta do have a "life", if that's what you want to call it. But of course, I still like to escape it half the time ;)
